Yeah Yamaha have not put a foot wrong since they started this New Age 4 Stroke game but $13k+ for a dirt bike is insane to me.. You lose 12% value on reciept of ownership.. then throw it up ,off and at everything abrasive you can find in the hope it is better than last years model and you can’t generally even afford to own it out right by the time it’s near ready for a rebuild??!!!
You can buy a Beautiful Vtec V4 full faired 800 brand newie roadie with more metal and high tech from japan for less than any Race ready single cylinder enduro bike is worth in my books and safely clock 200,000km at 200+km/h…Damnit even a new I 30 Hyundai drive away with 2 year unlimited km warranty has more going for it, and for less and I don’t even own a car.. I’d only buy new based on how good they rate on reviews and that comes from used and abused ownership reports after a year or 2 of reviews.
KTM530 08 and up don’t look good at all from all my researching.. CRF 250/450 X models haven’t changed since 08 and still aren’t great reliability wise without big money spent from near new, BMW Husky Berg chuck your hat in the ring based on magazine sponsored ride reports… blaaa blaaa wizz bang. Still got in my way at the Kowen ride too..

It’s out totally weighed the pricing for dirt bikes with what you get for your money and support from these machines that we have to trust to get us home from the bush to our homes. And then try to get good honest dealer help when they do break down after buying one new.. Try KTM for fun in my town. BAD !!

So it’s back to 2nd hand older low km models.. Honda XR650 sounds great but my 600 is pretty competitive all bar the big HP. Why not but eh.. Stubborn mood… motard mood
