G’day from Gunnedah

Hi

I’m a 45 year old farmer ( ie fat, unfit & slow ) from near Gunnedah NSW who’s been riding off & on since I was a kid. Currently riding a Buell XB9R Firebolt ( not the most practical bike for gravel roads ), a Suzuki DR650 that I’ve just converted into a motard, and a 2000 model XR250R which is just a great light little bike. Am trying to find more time for riding to stay sane

Gday Roy. I have a soft spot for Gunnedah. I have an uncle that owns a windscreen business opposite the Overlander motor inn. I have spent a bit of time there. As for your choice of bikes, a double thumbs up from me. Love the XR’s and the DRZ’s are Bulletproof. AS for the Buell, I have a M2 Cyclone, close to basket case, here in the shed at the moment and I am in two minds whether to renovate or detonate. Might have to hit you up for some Buell knowledge.
It runs but the counter shaft is cactus.

Thanks for the welcome guys. XR’s ! I had a 84 model XR250 I bought new on my L’s, a new 92 model, then in a homage to my lost youth I recently bought the 2000 model I now have – why do we ever get rid of the old bikes we used to have. Other regretfull sales are a Ducati Pantah, Honda NX650, Kawasaki Z1000 . . . . .Having said that, the Buell ( Billy Bob ) is for sale as he just doesnt get the use he deserves, as much as I would like to keep him !

G’Day Roy I lived in Gunnedah for a short time back in the early 90’s In Gallen Avenue up near Links road. Hope to see you on a ride at Tamworth. I am also going on the Dalby moto ride soon at North Star which is not too far from you. Its not an old bulls ride but it’s a good reunion for all my friends at Moree. Welcome to the Old Bulls.
