Below is an edited transcript of a local dirt bike email ring:-

Dear Andrew, I am told by the Father of a similar victim that
The Appin Motorcycle club/motocross tracks’ membership log was stolen. This gives adresses of many members. The story I heard was virtually exactly as your e-mail. “Bolt cutters, several bikes, and stolen Mercedes Van” (approx a month ago!. Circulate your e-mali veryl far and very wide, and lets catch these criminals.

I was recently selling my KTM 250 EXC. I was aproached by text and e-mail from a “Sandy” in Malasia. She? wanted to pay full price and would mmediately send the freight company to pickit up. Her e-mails always included her own link to “Pay Pal”. I researched it and found it all
to be a scam, where Pay Pal reimburse the purchaser , and then sue the vender !, who ends -up minus vehicle AND minus the $ value that he received. Possibly minus legal costs aswell ? there is a LIVID ex owner of a very collectable XW Falcon on U Tube, that explains it well (unfortunately).

    Best Regards PC
I wonder if these bikes aren’t being shipped out of the country ?.
If there is anything I can do, to help , please ask. Paul

URGENT 4 MOTORBIKES STOLEN FROM GERRINGONG LAST WEDNESDAY EVENING

    Hi All,
Last Wednesday evening friends of mine had 4 motorbikes stolen out of their sheds in Gerringong and they also stole a Mercedes Benze van on the same evening to transport the bikes which has not yet been located by the police and proceeded to enter the yard and used bolt cutters to steal the bikes which were all chained together.

As we work in the human services sector, we may have access to clients who ride or know someone in the right circles, and I am wondering if you would be so kind as to keep this in mind, or perhaps even ask around on their behalf, as one of those bikes were taken on their daughters 18th birthday which was her pride and joy.

I have attached photo’s and wondering if you would all be so kind as to take this description home with you and email it to as many people as possible, as there is a good chance that the thieves may have been local, and also went through the house when the children were sleeping to gain access to the fourth bike, which is a scary thought, as we always think it is never going
    to be us.
I really appreciate your assistance and please be aware that if you have valuables look into
    insurance :)

Thank you so much for helping! Our family could not thank you enough, we really just want to
    get our bikes back :(

We have attatched a description of the 4 bikes that were stolen and pictures of each, we do not have many good photos but we are trying to get more together off cameras

    Thanks again! – A & E S

    Hi Guys,

My mum is the President of Appin Motorcycle Club , i can tell everyone now that NOTHING has ever been stolen, this “log” infact there isnt even a log, NO record of your details held anywhere on the premises, there is NO records of anything off premises. There is no way that these theifs have anything from us! IF there was anything like that happening my mum would have been notified by the police. We have not been approched for anything like this.

Coming close from home my boyfriend lost 2 bikes late march, we have done some reserch and i can say that google earth plays a big part in this google your house address and you can crystal clear see everything in your back yard !

They are horrible people and it has wrecked alot of fun for all us bike riders as these are OUR pride and joy !

Reason for my post is just to notify people watch who you tell about riding bikes !
When driving home from a hard day riding make sure no one is following you home
FACEBOOK TWITTER dont have your suburb on there ! white pages has your address !
Adverising on bike sales they might say they are the next Chad Reed they only want to meet at your house check out all your toys and plan a way to break in and take what you have !
Take them to a park, servo. Away from your house !

Thankyou very much for reading and take care. ;)
