On the back of BadBowie’s inspirational effort and having until NYD off, I’m going for a two day adv ride 28th and 29th December. Trailering the bikes to Gloucester NSW, to save time, and ride no more than 400km day 1 and 450km day 2 back to Gloucester and trailer home late that night.
Ready to ride at Gloucester 10am 28th December (pm starting point)
Fuel range of 400km
Pub stay overnight
I will be taking camping gear just in caseThe ‘just in case’ is if everything turns to custard and we are not near accommodation.
I have set a route and haven’t prerun. Being an adv ride we’ll take it as it comes, creek crossings, hills we can’t get up, tracks not there, navigation errors. If there is a major obstacle, there is no time to in the day to muck around, so I’ll do a ‘go round’ which may mean tar.
If we get stuck on day two and don’t reach Gloucester we may spend another night out if that is the sensible thing to do.
More info later
BTW, make sure your headlight works

December 25, 2011 at 12:30 pm #213619Just went over the route again and this ride is looking pretty tame. Total distance will be about 700km and a bit of tar to get to fuel.
The furtherest North will be Styx River SF and pub stay is looking good, although not guaranteed.
A camp on the route would be perfectly positioned near Nowendoc which won’t be happening because I don’t want my skin being used as Naden’s new dinner jacket.
If we’re making good time there might be some challenges thrown in.
Hope you all had a good Christmas.
Cheers

I wonder if Lotsa realizes that naden was around the area that he helped Murph change his flat tyre on the nundle x-mas ride??????? shhhhh dont tell him but we probably rode past him a few times on that ride????
December 27, 2011 at 11:12 am #213706this is how close we were to his location, the top one is the berry patch the bottom is his last seen location apparently.
sorry about the hijack, but I dont think I will be picking up any hitch hikers this coming friday!!!!
December 27, 2011 at 6:33 pm #213621:laugh: If Naden wanted any Skin Coats to add to his collection,,,, It sure wouldn`t be any of ours  :silly:
He`s been out there for years & would have heard you blokes coming before you left the van parkIf he ever gets caught, I will be very surprised

He could have given me a hand with the flat. It might have been quicker. RR to come.
December 29, 2011 at 10:35 am #213754A big couple of days in the saddle, Wednesday from 9.30 until 7.30 and no lunch, Thursday from 9.00am until about 6.30. Even longer for Gavb who rode to the start point from the central coast and Tryhard who rode home with Gavb. Plenty of video, too much to all go on here though. It will take a while to edit and upload.
