Nice Nick love the sound effects, so what price did you get them for, I’d be interested to know if you can get replacement “blank” goggles and move the camera over to a new set, rather than having to buy the whole lot again. I would assume this is possible?

    Cheers
    Chris.

I got this reply from Liquid image

    Nick,

We do not have interchangeable goggles at this time. However, if replacement parts are needed then we can provide them. Send any other questions my way and I’ll be glad to help!

I have now got ‘ The Wedge ‘ for the Liquid Image goggles and it’s courtesy of LI in USA and their service was outstanding , nothing was too much trouble and Staci sent me one as soon as they were made. They will be available in Australia soon too.

This is all it is and it raises the camera by 10 degrees

1st unscrew the 4 screws holding the camera in the goggles

Move the camera out of the way

Trim the plastic lip off the goggles as shown in the instructions

    Insert the wedge

The field of vision is now perfect mate. I always found myself staring at the top third of the frame when watching the clips but now they are angled perfectly.
    Great result.

Last weekend I did Ev’s ridefrom Bello to Lowanna , it was a great ride but towards the end of the day I was riding in dappled light and didn’t see a long stick about 20mm diameter poking out of the bush.
The stick hit me square on my googles middle of the right eye , I was roughly traveling at 15-20 kph and the impact pushed out the goggle lens and deflected the stick away from my eye where it hit the edge of my eye socket and out of my helmet. It was a typical ” 10mm to the left and it would have been all over ” story and I was very lucky.

I emailed Stacey at Liquid Image goggles in America and she was really happy the googles took that kind of hit and protected my eyes still ,she thanked me for the info and has sent me a new lens and strap courtesy of Liquid Image.

I truly believe a lesser quality goggle could have resulted in a really bad end to a top day , they are called the Impact range and they certainly perform not only with quality footage but maximum protection too ;)

    Here’s a vid of the day !!

Been looking at these, not bad value online especially for the 720p version.

Question: do they feel “heavy” at all when wearing them? Do you tend to swap these and your “normal” googles, i.e. only wear these when you want to film it?

Some of the online deals include a charger, is it needed or do the also charge via USB?

    Cheers

    Hi Razz

I charge via USB on my laptop but the charger would be good for traveling light!

I normally wear these goggles when I want to film new areas I’m riding , they aren’t heavy and have a good nose protector. I don’t where then when I’m riding areas I have a lot of footage of unless we have a big group.
