I was at my grandma’s house last week and was showing my 2 year old the neighbours chooks and ducks when he noticed an old motor bike, being motor bike mad he started saying “motor bike, motor bike” and as I was watching the male duck I just said “yes that’s right, motor bike” not paying any attention until he kept saying “dad’s motor bike”. So I turned around and to my shock there was sitting an old ’88 XR100R.
I thought it would be good to get and just clean up so the lad could sit on it and make out to fix it when I’m playing with mine. So I went around and asked about it and they said I could have it. They said it had died years ago and they never fixed it, but, they give me the spare motor they had picked up for it aswell. So I scored the bike and most the bits plus a donar motor that apperantly was ok. What a score I think. The only thing it is missing is the right hand side cover and the left hand engine covers off both motors. So I quess my lads will have one like their dad’s in the near future, with fingers crossed, I hope there isn’t too much wrong with the motors and I can make one good one from the pair of them.

Sounds like a great little project for you and the lad.
88 really isnt that old either, should be a good thing when she’s fixed up.

    Gotta love free stuff…Especially motorbikes.

Good luck with that you might come out of it a fully qualified motorcycle mechanic. At least it is an xr and when put back together will wear out your grand childrens kids

Nah to much work to be bothered. Throw it all out, Just make sure you let me know the location where you leave em. (GPS co-ordinents PLS). No seriously they should end up with a top bike, as long as dad knows what he is doing.
