I had a mount on the headlight shroud of the 250. Great in the single trail but absolutely crap on the more open stuff, too much vibration. I have mine mounted on the peak of my helmet which I have good results from. Just remember when you put it on your helmet that if it looks right as far as angle goes, push it up another couple of degrees otherwise all that you will film is your hands and front gaurd. Also remember that it is there when you go under low branches etc, I learnt the hard way:blush:
Yes, this was quite funny to watch (I’m quite sadistic). DanD, BigT and I were riding in a place where you just really didn’t want to be riding and had to go up this hill that all three of us came off going down it. It took us all up about 40 minutes to get us all back up it. It was an absolute prick of a hill. Anyway DanD was going real good going up and probably would have made it except for the vine that was looped down and got caught on his helmet cam and pulled him all the way back down again. I actually didn’t think it was funny at the time because it was like 40 degrees and the hill was, did I say prick. Yes it was. So I was really concerned that he was going to have a heart attack. All worked out good so I laugh about it now.
Before you respond TB by saying that wait until it happens to you well it has except I got completely yanked off my bike up in the Buladelah mountains from a 1-inch thick vine that got caught under my neck. So I know how it feels. I remember being very shocked at the whole thing at the time. It’s just funny now when I imagine the dumb look that would have been on my face.
The moral to this story though is be careful about mounting it on top.
