I plucked it from my head, don’t you get tought the basics in school these days :P

The amperage a wire of 4mm CSA will vary depending on the quality of wire used. For most applications a 4mm CSA wire should be good for 10 amps+. If the bike cable is thinnner than this Scotty may well struggle.

I don’t know about the stator but your commenst make sense, it’s probably not rated high enough for 100W, if it is it will be very easy to replace the wire with some 4mm stuff though.

And you thought my best attribute was my looks :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Just read Scotty’s post and also remembered we’re talking about a DRZ here with no kick starter so the stator may be a bit more robust than the likes of a EXCR/CRF/WRF etc.

Just do it Scotty what can go wrong?:laugh:

It wont even be 2mm wire, it would be more like 0.75 or 1-1.5mm.
Anyway .75mm wire can handle 10 amps so I would go the 100 watt, especially with the other lights being LED or removed. Nothing to worry about.

I am a sparky, and I used to own a DRZ.

You can also get some fairly good bulbs that whilst carrying the same Wattage/amperage draw have much better luminosity (candlepower) I just put some in my ute and the Mrs’ Laser and you’d swear they’d be a higher wattage globe.

Can also get some nest conversion kits for standard vehicles to turn them into nighttime wonders.
