I’m looking at getting a GPR V4 damper for my 08 CRF and wondered if anyone has had any experience with them either on a Crf or other bike. They look very slim and are an underbar mount.

    Thanks in advance

Cant help you with the GPR but can probably get you a better deal on the same as you have on your Tenere under bar as well. I have the same on my XR and Tenere. From what I can find out has more adjustments then the GPR

Let me know if you want me to find out.

Thanks TB , I like the damper on my Tenere , haven’t thought about it for the Crf and saw the GPR V4. I’ll be keen to hear feedback still but I’ll be in touch :)

Yeah, Sorry Nick but I think Deano is in the middle of moving house (back to Tamworth area)
I`m sure he will provide some thoughts on the damper though ;)

    Hi Nick,

I bought one for my 520 and when i got the 690 it had one on it already. It’s the only damper i have used so nothing to compare it too. I think there is other brands that have a few more adjustments as TB mentioned but in the end it’s not something i play around with all the time while riding.

I have never had an issue with the one i had on the 520 but my current one on the 690 has an issue with the dial not reflecting what the dampening is. The only time i adjust it is high speed on the tar. I use it at max to take out any front wobble and then i back it off to around 3 for the trails. I usually don’t ride single trail so i find 3 is pretty good. I like it because it’s a under bar mount and is out of the way. I did however have dramas trying to find bar risers for it as nobody makes any.

Any other questions just let me know.

    Hi Nick

I have had one on my DRZ now for a while and find it really good.
Easy to get at the adjuster and adjust it on the move .
For the money it is a great option!!!!
Come and check it out any time

    Cheers

What ended up being the verdict on this one Jacko ????
Or did you grab an MSC ( Rallymoto )

I was looking at some this week & stumbled across the Rallymoto for the 690 at an amazing price
    It`s looking like a likely purchase I think ;)

I didn’t get a damper in the end Eags , the Ralle Moto one didn’t fit and since then ive been too busy to look.

Could have used one lately though with the high speed offs I’ve had :p

I have the msc matrix underbar mount and bar risers on my 2012 model crf nick and its the greatest thing! It has a lot of adjustment and so far i have found it great for on road, sand and single trail. Its worth every cent i spent on it.

I ended up grabbing the last RM1 Rallemoto kit for the 690.

I realise it may not be as flash or adjustable as the new whizbang Matrix units,,,
But for $420 delivered including the risers and CNC fitting kit (which is needed to fit the 690 trellis frame and ignition switch) I am stoked B)
Last time I looked at them they were $895
