I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on these two units…

Garmin GPSMap 60Cx Handheld GPS $382.79 inc GST

    or

Garmin Oregon 200 $359.00 inc GST

Both units include a free topo map & a 2GB SD Card for the above price..

    Cheers…

I bought a 60csx from o/s for about $350 landed from memory and I d/l shonky maps but so far only used it to track plots and not to navigate so I can’t really tell you much except that it seems to work well.

They are very good prices, Johny Appleseed’s price is $412 with no extra’s https://www.ja-gps.com.au/Garmin/handheld-gpsmap60cx/

I would go the Garmin GPSMap 60Cx Handheld. I use the Garmin Colorado 300 and it is very good. It does take awhile to learn how to use it.

    G’Day Guys,

Has been a while but would be interested in getting some feedback on the best GPS system to use. Can never get anytime to get on any of the rides the MAYOR of TAMWORTH organises (Boony).

As such I am looking at doing some solo trails around Tamworth during the mid week and looking to buy a good and reliable GPS that is not going to cost me a fortune or save the Westpac Helicopter looking for me each time I venture out.

Was looking at this GPS (see hyperlink) as I thought it would be handy as you can strap it to your arm. However would be interested in hearing from the experts.

G’day Calala, I’ve got a dakota 10 (garmin from J appleseed for 249) no sd slot but around a GB of total memory, very rugged, top for trailuse, we have dozens of maps loaded on it rom NENSW & SEQLD and still have over 600MB o memory left using shonky maps software. A riding mate o mine got a Garmin 450T his was around $460 definitely more of a unit than mine, but on the trails no discernable diff.

I’m fairly new to mapping GPS only used ocation ones before this and it’s really cool and easy to use on the trails
