how much does everyone pay for their greenslips?

my cousin is trying to get a greenslip for a 1997 xr 400 but it costs about $650, my 2006 ktm 625 only costs about $450. i guess its because of the age of the bike, any good insurance companies out there for older bikes. buy the way the best price we could both get was from Allianz.

I dont think it has anything to do with the age of the bike?? I think it goes more on engine cc and where you live, I am pretty sure, but could be wrong

i thought so too but i put in a few different years of manufacture and everything from 2008 to 1998 was $200 cheaper than 1997 and before. same area, same age, same everything more or less.

    Whereabout is your cousin located?

I have a theory that says that there is a form of collusion between the insurers as the cheapest this year will generally be the dearest the next and so on until the cycle restarts. Thus each year I do my usual ring around or web check before I go to a mob called the Greenslip Kings and generally end up with something slightly cheaper that thee best quote I received (applies for car as well).

    Green Slip Kings eh?
    Never heard of them.
I thought there were only the 6 or so companies on the slip that comes with the rego paper.
I will have to look into this next rego time, thanks.

I paid $295 last rego with GIO. That’s in a regional area and with comprehensive insurance.

I think having full insurance gets the price down a little.
