Hi all, today’s ride was a huge success with a big thank you to all that participated. A few minor mishaps but nothing to write home about!
I particularly like to thank Master Chef Shane for not poisoning us, Mal5.1 (alias Mal300) for the privilege of us all to be on the invite list for the Euro Christening and for his efforts as the morning Sweep.
Great effort and punctuality by all, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
I will post a full ride report shortly as I am offline for a few days.
Cheers

Craig H for a short period
Shane-VOR master chefEverybody was on time and promply got geared up in the cold. Mals prediction of frost was right on the money. We set of up Jenolan Caves rd for about a km then turned left into the bush. The corner man system broke down on about the second corner but we were back on track pretty quick and didn’t have another mishap for the rest of the day. The trails were a mix of fire trails, twin and single track with some knarly rocky hills thrown into the mix. One very rocky uphill got the better of Lipton and saw Mal ride the CRF to the top, (bloody Honda). From here we headed to a look out for a morning tea of Lamingtons and jelly snakes.
From the lookout we headed down another hill with rock ledges and ruts that caught Lipton again seeing him have a little dirt nap. I think it was at the bottom of this hill I seen Gotcha drop into at rut and take a tumble. We rode some more trails, twin track, single, up hill, down hill, rocks, mud puddles, but as I said I have no idea where we were. We stopped at a camping area on the sixfoot track. This is where we were to meet Graig H. As we had set a pretty good pace with no real incidents we were here early so duct off for a short loop till Graig turned up.
Once Craig arrived we headed off what was supposed to be a smooth trail to meet with Shane who was preparing lunch. This trail turned out to have a number of mudholes and hills, one off which was rather rocky. Also a tree across the track which had a tricky detour. As we waited atop a hill to regroup it was agreed the BIG BMW would have turned around and would meet us at lunch. It was then we heard the sound of a big twin cylinder coming along the trail. Craig pulled up looking unfazed.
We headed off this time along easier pine forest trails. Here I got to spend some time behind Graig and was very impressed on the way he though around such a large bike.
Shane cooked up a feast off bangers and onion rolls for lunch before we headed back out for another few hours of trails. All day the group set a pretty good pace staying pretty close together and having no major misshaps.
Thanks for a good day DrD. Look forward to the next one. Great bunch off blokes to ride with. Only thing better would have been a few more beers at the end.
Will add the few pics I have soon. With the group running pretty tight there was not much time to stop and play tourist.
