January 24, 2011 at 9:59 am #195134This is Stump Hill, I hadn’t been on it before and was just following the guys up thinking it started a bit further up. Before I knew it I was already ¾ of the way up and so didn’t get a run up for the last bit and even then I didn’t realise I was at the top until someone appeared and started pulling the bike up for me. Will have to have a better go next time.

January 24, 2011 at 10:01 am #195138This last one is about 8 minutes long but I couldn’t be arsed editing it, it was a nice flowing section that TB said would be good australian safari material.

And that’s it from me, it wasn’t long after that that I came to grief. We had just gone back into the pine forest on the way back and there was I guess you would say a triple trail where there were 3 single lines about a meter apart. I was in the left one behind a line of 4 riders when there was a bit of a hold up. Rather than slow down and wait in the line I thought I would just switch to the right but only the front wheel moved across and the back stayed in the left line which caused me to slip sideways and crash dislocating my right shoulder.

Gees Jeffro you had the thumb screws into Chris and the Kato 400 there, I was siting on the lounge yelling GO GO!! the little DR that almost could, go you good thing
January 24, 2011 at 9:12 pm #195141I lined up to pass him twice but the rocks speared him across the track both times blocking my path so I backed off a bit, like we say, “it’s not a race”.
I had 1 more post with a photo to add but for some reason it wouldn’t work last night, it was all meant to be on the one but it wasn’t posting so I broke it down a bit but still couldn’t get the last one up. I have it on word and will try again tonight.
Shoulder was e-rayed yesterday morning and everything is in the right spot and no fractures, just needs time to heal, hopefully I wont be off the bike for too long.
January 25, 2011 at 12:51 am #195148Went to the Hospital yesterday morning at about 6.30 and got straight in. I was in, x-rayed and out again within ¾ of an hour, a rarity in emergency rooms the days. Everything is where it is meant to be and no sign of fractures so now it’s just a slow painful recovery. Hopefully I won’t be off the bikes for too long
Beautiful country side
And I fitted in well at the bar
Oh, and one for Crash. Here is TB with his bumbag on cause you weren’t there with yours.
January 25, 2011 at 7:06 am #194994Top vids ther Jeffro, That must have been on the Sunday ride, sweet tracks n country side. Now I’m spewin more that I couldn’t ride after seeing em.Same as you with the arm, got to rest up, n spend the next six weeks in a sling, seems that I cracked the top of my arm bone. The RMX looks a bit wors for ware to,but the main parts are still straight :cheer:
Teza.January 25, 2011 at 10:25 pm #194995Great stuff everybody!
I note that there was no breakdown reports on Gazza’s mighty xr. No radaitor issues, no electric start issues, and it looks so tidy I nearly got a woody!
Forget the “narny” Owl, we riders of such classy machinery should stick together against the evils of these modern whizzbang thingumejigs.
Top photos & vids too. Maybe you could get Chris 72 to put them on a disc for you!

January 27, 2011 at 12:48 am #194996A bit late in my RR but been snowed under at work..
OWL01 and I arrived at the Hampton Pub around 7:30am.. Lots already there and getting ready.. Said some hello’s and meet and greeted old as well as some new old bulls..
I volunteered to run Sweep with Rocket as I felt it was time to give back and help out as much as I can the same way I have been helped many many times..
Off we went down the bitumen a bit and into the bush.. There was no warm up and we got stuck right into it and climbed a good size hill.. I think it was called Power line hill.. You would have seen photos and video of me having some slight difficulties with balance and the like..
Some nice flowing tracks with a good pace then into a snotty grassy hill that seemed to cause all sorts of carnage even for the more experienced guys.. One advantage as sweep was I got watch all the carnage as well as see which way I shouldn’t go..  However that didn’t really help much as you have seen from the video with me bike being dragged out of a bush..
More flowing stuff with some tight singles thrown in.. A couple fellas ran into some strife and rocket and I stayed with em until things were back in order.. One bloke had an off and needed to do some quick repair on a barky and another fella had a rear flat.. After some fairly quick road side repairs we were off again..
There was a fella I believe a mate of Steve’s from adventure moto who had a few difficulties that we helped out along the way.. Somewhere along the trail the banjo bolt came loose from his front master cylinder and he lost his front brake.. Rocket and I tried to re-bleed it but it wouldn’t take so Rocket raced on to try and catch the group to let everyone know what was happening.. TB returned and we decided I would guide him out back to the pub since I had a GPS with me.. TB continued on with the group and myself and 2 of Steve from Adv. Moto mates followed me out.. It took a bit to find our way out but we made it none the less.. TB said to try and head N.E. Apparently this was a best guess but turned out to be spot on.. The human GPS worked again!!
We arrived back to the pub and waited for the group to return.. After an hour we decided to get a ahead start on lunch and had a feed.. Soon after the group returned and the Pub did an excellent job sorting all those hungry blokes..
Lunch finished and we were off again.. We went along the same path as the am for a bit then into some different stuff.. I didn’t ride sweep this time and was having a ball.. There were plenty of things thrown in that tested me and forced me out of my comfort zone.. Some really steep and shaley hill climbs and descents.. All was going well until Mount impossible and the off Teza had.. You all know the stories there so I won’t bore you..
All in all it was a great day as usual with an Old Bull ride.. I was pretty beat and sore as was OWL01 but we had a great time and I hope to go back there soon as there was lots out there to explore..
Thanks again to all the Old Bulls who made the day what it was and the help and advice provided along the way..
I didn’t take a large amount of photos but here are some I did get..
Some of the Boys sitting around chatting..
OWL01 ready to go….
Slowly gathering for the riders brief..
Random early morning shot..
Flat Tire..
OWL01 on the trail….
The top of a fairly snotty hill from the afternoon loop.. Look at all those boulders you must get through..
Start of Mount Impossible…
