TB I was really keen when I seen this ride posted and I am on 4 weeks annual leave so work is no issue. Problem is I will be in Batemans Bay with the better half and my kids so looks like I will miss Hampton once again.

OK… I’ve got a room at the pub and I’m coming up for the social activities as the riding looks a bit out of my league. Not sure whether the XR400 will have its first outing or bring the BMW650 either way I’ll be on a bike and looking forward to sharing a rum/coke or 10.

    Katgirl,

If you can ride Ourimbah SF then you’ll handle Hampton I’m sure. And if all else fails there will be plenty of people keen, willing, and some, even able to help :P

Not too sure about the fuel range of my RMX for the Hampton ride, I’m thinking that 80,90 klicks of bush type riding might be over the limit for it. Dont want to run out of fuel n piss peaple off,and dont have provisions for strap on,on the bike that is! Any idea’s ?????
    cheers Teza.

1 litre bottle in backpack, ride 10km and empty into tank, not carrying extra weight for too long then ;) ;)

    cheers Hatto

Yeh! thanks for that Hatto,I did think of that but wasn’t real sure bout carrying fuel on my body,,,but I gues if yu had a strong enough bottle it sould be OK eh! I dont have much choice realy cos I’m not guna run out of fuel on my first ride with OBT’s. Thats for sure!
    Lookin forward to it :woohoo:

    Teza,

I wouldn’t worry to much. The boys will suck fuel out of their bikes if you shout a beer or rum/coke at the pub. Just take some hose.. its lighter and safer in your backpack. :woohoo: Its a win win for all.

Teza TB says on page 1 that the whole day is 80 – 90km and lunch is at the pub. I assume yous will be riding out for a loop in the morrning, coming back for lunch and going back out in the arvo. TB will be able to clarify.

When I go on longer rides I carry 2.5L in my backpack no worries. I have come off and rolled down hills and the container hasn’t broken. You’ll be ok if you carry a bit in your pack mate. Just remember to carry some 2t oil if you’re going to buy fuel off someone out on the tracks. Enjoy the ride it’s a good area.

OH and watch out for blokes on quads, they take up a fair of the track.
