AnonymousHey, does anyone want to share ‘riding in the freezing cold’ tips?
Obviously the thermals are the go and hopefully I will have heated hand grips by then but is there anything else that will help.
On the Caves to Caves ride Eagle helped us out by telling us about the plastic bags over the feet and the gloves (washing up ones) under your riding gloves but I suspect that was more for wet conditions. Is there anything else we should do?
Has anyone ever tried a beanie under their helmet?
Are neck kerchiefs the go?
Do you reckon that the washing up gloves will stop you from getting cold hands? or should I just rely on the heated hand grips. I have no idea how warm the heated hand grips get so what do you reckon?
I hope it snows.
No maybe not. That would mean I would get wet and I don’t want to look like the bumble bee on steroids again like on the Caves to Caves ride.

you will be colder around camp than when we are in the forest, it will be fresh getting to and from the forrest but when we are up and going its fine, don`t panic..

As far as the rest of you goes the organiser will have taken into account the temperature and will know that if you are wearing basic riding gear and a enduro style jacket (maybe long johns)that he will keep the trails challenging and slow (2nd and 3rd gear type riding) hills mud etc because that will raise your core temperature working hard, but if its fire trails, dirt roads and bitumen that will reduce it

AnonymousThanks Boony. At least someone’s talking to me tonight.
BTW – I am not panicking.
I just want to make the ride as comfortable as I can for myself so that I can get the absolute most out of it.

AnonymousDon’t know what your worried about Kylie. Your personal sherpa will be there to carry every possible thing that you might need:P Or maybe I will let you carry your own “just in case” stuff:ohmy:
