AnonymousMy Birthday Surprise
I should of smelt a rat when last week Kylie had to get out of the car to talk to TB.
But me being me, some would say stupid, some would say oblivious, but I will just say that I probably trust people a little too much thought nothing of it.
Obviously to probably everyone else in the world something was going on.It was the great DanD birthday conspiracy.
The plan that was hatched by TB was for me to think that he had organised for Kylies wheels for the project DRZ to be delivered to a Central Coast location and we would then go and pick them up.
A great deal of ground work was put in by TB, he spun me a great yarn about how a mate of his who has something to do with a trucking company was in Sydney and was going to pick the wheels up and take them to Sandgate where I could pick them up, or worst case scenario we would have to go to his place on the Central Coast to get them. However old mate from the trucking company had another job he had to go to and was to leave the wheels at a restaurant at Tuggerah that his brother was the chef at. TB assured me that everything was going to be right as he had picked things and dropped them off at the said restaurant plenty of times.
This afternoon I got a phone call from a lady who claimed to be old mates mother and I was to go to the Lone Star at Tuggerah to pick up the wheels after 6.30pm. I still thought nothing of it as I have had to deliver a battery charger to Kylies Dad in the past on my birthday just so Kylie could get me out of the house long enough to throw me a surprise birthday party.
Anyway all the D’s get ready to go to Tuggerah and would probably get tea while we where down that way. On the way down Kylie seemed to be very conscious of what time it was and done a slight deviation to look at the car yards down that way – this was to make sure that we were not to early now I know. She also done something that she never does and was texting someone as she drove. When she got a return text we seemed to quickly do a U turn and head back towards Tuggerah.
When we got to Tuggerah we started looking for the Lone Star so we could pick up “the wheels”. I said to Kylie I had better ring TB to find out what old mates brothers name was so I didn’t look like a complete tool and go into Lone Star saying that I need to see the chef to pick up some wheels. Kylie was pretty quick to take over ringing TB at this stage. When she had finished talking to her partner in crime (TB) we headed towards Lone Star. We were to ask for “Dave” to get the wheels. We got to the front door and were greeted by some very friendly Lone Star staff and were ushered inside. The girls at the front counter asked us if we wanted a table for four and I just sort of stood there thinking about how to say I wanted to see “Dave” the chef to pick up some wheels, without sounding like a complete dick head.
Kylie then said to the front counter girls “I think we are right for a table” and then I seen bloody TB with a silly grin on his face. It was an excellent surprise to see him but when I walked in here was Salina, Boulder and Claire (Boulders wife) also sitting at the table.
I was somewhat gob smacked to see that everyone had taken the time to come and share my birthday with me.
TB and Salina had got me a fender bag, a Ballards tube repair kit and some bling blue rim locks to put on the WR.
Boulder and Claire gave me something that I think Boulder had wished that I had a few weeks ago after our 11.00pm effort at trying to start the WR. A brand new spark plug in a very special plug holder (no more monged up dirty spark plugs in the bottom of the camel back.)We enjoyed a HUGE dinner which had me waddling out of Lone Star thinking that I was carrying triplets.
There is some pictures of the night which I will post up tomorrow night.I need to say a huge thankyou to TB, Salina, Boulder, Claire, Kylie, Taylah and Emma for making my 33rd birthday so great.
Thanks again to everyone else who have made today great by wishing me all the best and this sort of thing is what makes OBT what it is.
Heres to all my OBT brothers and sisters and the Old Bull spirit.

Mate take some credit for pulling off the whole show – there is one thing about you TB you can spin a great yarn and keep a straight face (even over the phone)
I am still blown away by the effort that everyone put in for me.
