    nice idea chris. but…

you need icecream to go with the jaffles/pies. and they need to be hot to melt the icecream

and it always takes me at least 1/2 a hour to pad-up as it is. no time to eat icecream or squeeze into my shrinking riding gear.

maybe after the ride. or sat night

TB, my parents survived the war in Europe and after it finished they ‘refugeed’ to Aussie.
Survive is the word as food was scarce and there was little money as the banks all closed long before they got blown up and looted.

Any way as a matter of cause/effect they learnt to make ends meet here by doing things just like this, e.g: as kids our little treat was sometimes brown suger sandwiches (no butter) even though there were better things in the cupboard.

So Yes, I have experienced this but thinks have now improved dramatically :)

Hey Hey the person in question owns his own business and is doing alright in life and is one of my closest friends, he isn’t doing it to save money, they do it because they like it.

Its a piss pulling exercise, trust me I know hardship

Do you really think I am the sort of person that could / would make fun of someone doing things tough!

Whatever its a piss pulling exercise

Sorry TB I mis-read the story.

Seems like their way of not spoiling their kids, sort of enforced humble pie ;)

I’ve never had a waffle and I’ll blame my tightarse old man!

But I wouldn’t put icecream on toast either. Toast is for breakfast and ice cream is for dessert and never the twain shall meet!

Well I am happy to report tonight I am at the house of no waffles, and yes we had waffles, it was beautiful seeing all the little kids so excited one crying little girl told me it was better then christmas although she was upset her sister had to donate a kidney for the ice cream because no substitute for ice cream could be found

Only a kidney.. a mere kidney, why when i was alad we would’ve given a lung for a teaspoon of dripping:( kids these days don’t know how easy they got it….
