I was lucky enough to find about this forum from reading an article in the latest TrailZone – ‘That’s no Bull’.
Great Stuff! and I like the Latte Style. I too will cross rocky terrain for a great coffee.
Anyhow …
We’re in the stages of planning a trip in August, from Brisbane across to Wolfe Crater – back to Alice then across the Simpson on our DR’s so I’m looking over the forum for anything related.

Hi There DakarChick ,,,,
That was a good article for sure, just a pity the trip was cut short for Lance & co , oterwise the article would have been a lot longer as the guys caried on for a few more days without them
And good luck on planning your trip to the Crater

How about sharing some more info on where you guys normally ride up that way, that would be awsome ,,,
Cheers

April 27, 2012 at 11:38 pm #220675Hi DC,
My bike is very soon migrating back to Brisbane where it lives with my riding buddies – they get out most fortnights, I am only able to do a ride even other month up there, but we too are heading to WA from Brisbane in August – may see you on the trails.
Cheers,
Greg

May 4, 2012 at 6:26 pm #220701We’re not sure what to take …. i’m looking for anyone who can give us some info.
Cost – ease of use – options are deciding factors.
For communication we were thinking of Sat Phone .. however spot tracker might be the go … just not sure about cost.

May 4, 2012 at 6:33 pm #220677On our trail bikes we normally ride out Beaudesert way … however …. the urban sprawl is spreading – even over the last few years we’ve had to find new tracks for trails.
There seem to be a few northside (of Brisbane) … however we like to keep close to home as much as we can.
AS for the DR’s there is a plethora of dirt roads – and some yet to be discovered by us – our best ones are south to Paddy’s Flat near Tabulam round to Tenterfield – Killarney – home – it’s a good overnight ride.
May 4, 2012 at 6:41 pm #220728HI Greg
Keep in touch with your travel plans back to WA in August .. do you know which way you’re heading yet?
PS what kind of bike is that in your photo?
