    All, I’ve had a technology meltdown recently busting both my laptop and my mobile phone. I have a new laptop but am still setting it up and have lost some info., I have an IT company recovering the contents of the hard drive now.

    My phone is only on for short periods before dying too, it has eaten 3 batteries in as many weeks and needs to be replaced also.

    I apologise in advance if I am difficult to track down and get hold of. Most of you will have Tyne’s number and it’s probably best to get hold of me on that in the evenings if you can’t get me on my normal number.

    Moto, if you need tips on how to destroy a mobile phone I am your man mate!! Just a quick dunking in petrol does the trick nicely! After that the battery problems will just cease to exist! :laugh:

    Good luck with the hard drive recovery. I know a bloke who can work wonders if you can’t get any joy with your guy. Unfortunately with our home PC the drive was fried beyond recovery, complete with several years worth of photos… :blush:

    Cheers ECKS :P I’m pretty sure the video card has died. Being an integrated unit on that particular laptop (business not gaming machine) I think it means a new motherboard which will be a no no. The hard drive seems fine though so I’m pretty confident at this stage of getting my stuff back.

    I still have stuff on another laptop I (read TB) broke that I need to get off Chris. Must do that too :P

    Sounds like you have it (largely) sorted then Moto! Always a bugger to lose info though. We have a heap of backup systems at the office here and even then stuff goes walkabout for no reason occasionally! Bloody ‘puters! Just about to look into yet another redundant system with an upgrade and relocation. B)

    The offer is there if you end up with no joy though! :)
