I’m currently window shopping for a new helmet. Something similar to those shown here. Basically a white helmet with a splash of orange.
If somebody is aware of such a helmet would you contact me thanks.
ps Yes I know Bell helmets are not imported into Aust anymore, but it shows the graphics that I’m interested in.
Cheers, TW
March 9, 2010 at 10:30 pm #172931If you really want a Bell Helmet as you dont race Paul I would say buy one from O/S I bought my Bell from Giant Motocross 2 years ago it was cheap and is a ripper helmet, not as good as my M2R but a good helmet. I have had trouble at race meetings in scrutineering because of the lack of Australian standard sticker. Beware though it could affect your insurance as has been mentioned on the site before.
For all that I would just find something I like in Australia with all the stamps needed

Had to go to Newcastle today so I did the rounds at a few bike shops. Only thing that comes close is a KBC. Didn’t buy it as the price was only $179. It’s an entry level helmet that looks OK but the low price bothers me. Might be OK. Will do a bit of research. Would sooner pay a bit more for a quality product though (particularly the way I ride  ).
Does anybody know of any issues with these entry level KBC lids?
Will also wait and see if others have spotted something that might suit.

Nah its a rev x-2, only the 2.5 and 3 are carbon kevlar, but they dont come in the ktm colour scheme he is after
March 10, 2010 at 9:46 am #173035the m2r helmet i got the other day is a genisis slightly different to this one nice helmet comfy light good ventilation .but has heaps of wind noise engine noise etc not good on a long ride i personaly like a quiet helmet.just thought i would let you no before you got one spose some people use ear plugs
March 10, 2010 at 10:05 am #173045Yeah Mal 5.1 said the same sort of thing Rocket (I wear ear plugs always will anyway any helmets wind noise drives me nuts and engine noise) Guess you cant have cool air flow and a quiet helmet
I like a cool headTB
March 10, 2010 at 10:10 am #173050your not wrong about the air flow would have the best of any helmets i have had by a longshot nothing like a cool head
March 10, 2010 at 11:10 am #173055I guess it’s a balancing act – obtaining great ventilation without the wind noise.
I made foam inserts for my current helmet (triangle section that fits where your ear is located) and that worked fine. Can even take them out to wash them with the other inserts.
Tell me LC4, the thing off the bat mobile at the rear of the helmet – can it be done away with?

i got a rev x3 the bat wing wasnt as big and it got bashed off on a tree on the 2nd ride. There are a couple of holes where it went on but i dont really care. I guess they could be plugged
