You could also try the Liquid Image Video Goggles
They come up fairly regularly on special got mine for about $80. Easy to use good quality no noise buffetting.

Which was great because of the wide screen thingy
Last is the current go pro I have that is a HD model and goes OK too.
They don’t like light changes so work best on a cloudy day.
oh too much typin anyway Old girl cameras can be a distraction and you need to consentrate sololy on your riding, getting bike time, letting Antonio be an extension of yourself….
might sound deep but I fall off when my bike slips over…… :S
ommmm
May 2, 2013 at 12:14 am #240766lol. I have to say AFTER i’d put the fire out I was cracking up with laughter. Think I should just wear a go pro ALL the time.
Trust me my pest control is just my latest ‘WTF were you thinking’ moment.
YEP I’m actually a natural blond…..
May 2, 2013 at 12:19 am #240776Thanks dude that really puts the Gopro HD as the clear winner. hmmm now to try and get one out of my other half.

The only one with any form of image stabilisation is the Sony Action Cam but it doesn’t do IS at the widest point of view setting.
I have a Liquid Image EGO and Gopro Hero 3 Black. The EGO does a good job at a cheap price but it can struggle with high contrast lighting changes that are common riding dirt bikes like when riding through trees on a sunny day with the sunny patches shining through. The image quality is not a sharp as the Gopro either.
As for mounting there are other ways than just on top of the head which I hate and wont do after near being pulled of the bike and getting a neck strain from one mounted this way. They will get hooked in bushes and the like.
This is my current mount setup which is working well.
I like the Gopro and there are a range of models to suit you budget. There are others on here with some of the other camera like the Contour and the Drift hope they can give some information on those.
Scotty , can you post up a pick of your helmet without the GoPro fitted so the mount can be viewed.
What type of mount are you using?May 2, 2013 at 2:34 am #240614A couple of people have asked so here is how my front mount was done. You may have to do some adapting to different helmets but it should work on most vented helmets.
I pulled the front vent area off the helmet and removed the centre section which just clips out.
I then used part of the front helmet mount kit, i also got one of these mount with my hero 3. i which I zip tied and hot glued from the inside of the vent with the mount sticking out though the hole.
Screwed the front vent back on and mounted the Gopro and its now solid as and out of the way. The added benefit is I can just see the red LED on the back off the camera which shows when the camera is recording.
May 3, 2013 at 7:54 am #240615That’s Genius Scotty, I’ll have to have a look on the big screen to fully check out the tech !

Turns your iPhone into a 170 degree POV waterproof sports cam and apparently the iphone has image stabilisation but id have to look that up to confirm it. Could be interesting I may just order one for fun would be a handy waterproof case when I’m out on my kayak anyway. Of course no good if you ain’t got an iPhone. Just another option.http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/XZPHINNAS/title/optrix-action-sports-camera-iphone-case
Ok these just popped up on catch of the day for $49 so I orders one to give it a go.
May 3, 2013 at 10:20 pm #240779That is pure genius Scotty!

May 4, 2013 at 1:31 am #240616Scotty the running commentary is going to come out crystal clear, good for those WTF moments.
May 7, 2013 at 11:23 pm #240617Just ran the action cam past my other half who actually understands all this HD numbers and stuff.
His response ‘ we don’t need to see you fall off you’re bike in high definition ‘
