stay away from jy hc1 sports,
its ok to pull out on occasions though trying to run it on a helmet sucks
keep a eye on if they boast a still function
    ‘shake free’
if they do and i wouldnt know i say spend the extra bucks:)

When I bought my GoPro at last years Sydney bike show I was shown both cameras in my price range (povo) the quality difference between the ATC3 and the GoPro was huge. The GoPro was by far the better out of the two. I paid $300 for mine through Launch Helmet Cams (I think thats what they were called) I’ve got a mount on the top of my helmet and one on the headlight shroud. When headlight mounted it’s good on single trail but crap on the open stuff, helmet mounted is good for everything. Picture quality is good but sound quality is a bit muffled.

Here is my 2 bobs worth.I bought a Oregon Scientific ATC2K a while ago and thought it’d be ok considering what I paid for it[Under $200].My first problem was that you dont know where it’s aiming so I got some awesome footage of my front guard at first :S .I mounted it on the jaw bar of my helmet and it was a bit fiddly to turn on/off.The quality of the footage is average at best and it seemed to shake around too much for my liking.Another problem I experience is that the battery seems to lose contact and thus the camera turns itself off>Not good when you think you’ve filmed something good only to find out youve got nothing  Sound quality is shite :(

I noticed that Ogegon scientific now has a ATC5K that has a small screen at the back which would take the guess work out of aiming it.It also has a remote which means you can turn it on/off without having to touch the camera[best feature yet I reckon]

In saying all that I have watched video from the Go-Pro and would have to agree that the quality is heaps better as it has a lot wider field of view and doesn’t seem to shake as much as mine.

As Ollie stated the POV-1 looks like awesome quality video and it looks tough as nails, but you have to carry the unit in your backpack which could be a pain in the arse sometimes.$1000 is a lot of money and it’s money that I dont have.
Here is a review I found on youtube comparing most of the units I just mentioned.
