So where’s the Diff. between 600 tenere, kle 650 etc? The Husky takes a decent load, there is all manner of bag gear for them, They even do ok on Both road and Trail. IMHO, having owned a few yammies for touring, I ‘d go the Husky 610 over it again and again. The ONLY thing the Tenere had over the Husky, parts and price, Air cooled. The Husky is a better machine allround otherwise. Stock trim my bike will sit 120kph loaded( me and gear 150kg) All day. You can even fit a screen if you want one. I ended up with mine due to the fact the local Yamaha sales man cant understand english/ego/pure moron who just couldnt get his head around the idea i didnt want a “race” bike. They had huskies on thet floor, i got catalogue of the idiot, drove 35mins away waslked into shop and bought the Husky. So this idiots blunt head cost them a sale and got me onto a better bike. IMHO. FWIW>the idiot just couldnt understand i didnt want a TTR250. I was asking if yamaha still made tenere style bikes, he wanted to sell TTR250, just couldnt get him off them. This bike(husky) is the only real Dual Sport/purpose bike, other than drz 400, that’s on the market. Motard kit available for 1500. 15min change over. A lady in the states gets around on the motard 610, goes all over the place( 14000ft up)rides somer pretty hard trails too. She be 5’1″. Has some pretty narly tyres on the thing but goes anywhere. Original quest? bike is in same catagory?

Its looks as though I have purchased a NX650 from QLD, am just sorting out some final details with ol mate regarding that and getting a mate to check it over and having another freight it home for me.

You’ll have to let me know how it goes mate. I’ll keep my eye out for something similar in the future.

Is Selina keen for a tour on the back of it? I had Tyne keen for getting one and going camping with you lot :)

Champo, I’ll check it out tomorrow. Actually looked at a KLR650 today. It’s an 04 model but only has 1400 kms on it. He wants $5500 for it but I said my limit was $5000. It’s on Ebay and it doesn’t have any bids so after the auction ends (tomorrow night) he may get back to me. It needs to be lowered a smidge but DanD says he can wind the preload off and move the forks up the triple clamps. It only needs to go down about 2cm.

You have to lok at a husky ..try TE 610. Around 04- 05 may find a good one in price range. Are motardable..and are an awesome engine.I’m an ex XT 500 fan and the ocassional XL 500 found its way into my life too. No bike I’ve had is close to the usability of the Husky. Power is very linear, smooth output.Seat height maybe only bugbear if your short in the leg dept.?

I have to say the super motard version looks excellent and it is really light too at less than 150kgs but the fuel capacity was only 9 litres. I also really wanted something with fairing or mini fairing to stop being buffeted by the wind. But I’ll add that one to my search engine as well.

It’s pretty good value for money for $5K with only 1400K’s. Considering an NX with 40,000K’s goes for around $2K :)

I hope you guys get it. You probably won’t, I’ve just offered the guy $5,001 :p
