What a top ride the only down side was my KTM coming out of the forest on the trail or. I think the boys enjoyed themselves. Thanks to Paul for taking over the lead for me.

August 11, 2013 at 11:02 am #247840Bloody hell, what have you trashed now Boonit??
The Kato…….or yourself mate
August 11, 2013 at 11:27 am #247846Boony was trying to have his wicked way with a wombat. the wombat fought back though and head butted the katos front brake disk, making it as warped as Boony. Personally I had a great day out riding the adventure bike (nissan patrol) and being the kitchen bitch / recovery driver practicing for the Nundle ride. Not quite bike ride but a bloody good day out in the forrest. Bring on January
August 11, 2013 at 11:28 am #247847The bike lost a round with a wombat. Its only a bent front disk. But was not ridable

August 11, 2013 at 11:51 am #247838I’m not surprised as last time I went up there I almost hit two on two seperate incidents. Fairly scary as I was on a main road at transport speeds. :pinch:
Hope the bike makes a speedy recovery.August 11, 2013 at 11:56 am #247851Knowing Boony and his story telling, it was probably just a little rabbit  Anyway mate you’ve got a couple of weeks to hammer it back into shape. đ

August 12, 2013 at 11:46 am #247852Well yet another great day in the hills of GOLD with mates riding some of the best stuff around. Well Jason & I went to the usual park spot and waited. Time was getting on so I rang Boony to find out what was happing. Told him we were up here waiting, his reply was NO we are starting from in town. Dam, but you said if we donât have to ride the tar we wonât. Ok so that was the text I didnât get so load 1 bike and drove down the hill in bike boots (never again).
Meet & greet then 9 of us plus the tea lady headed for the hills. Snowy was hanging for some bike action so he drove around the forest with his head out the window trying to spot us & listening for the echoing sounds that we were thumping out the pipe. We did pass him only to find him at the cabin with the morning tea spread ready to feed some hungry bulls. :woohoo: :woohoo:
The whole day was fast flowing and made for some mischief in the pack. I lost count on how many times Boony said âstop racing the leadâ I should of listen cause I got cheeky & it nearly bit me. At one time he said âthese singles will fix yaâ only not to be the case. I think Boony needs to stir that little 250 up.
One of the good bits was me chasing Matt for a bit, Climbing up that dusty slippery go for ever hill, the fast flowing singles on the way home, the little race up the humpy hill with Matt being put on the corner    . The whole day was just great.
I think Boonyâs wombat was the only thing that went wrong. Even that wasnât much, he never even dropped it.
Now I did hear that Snowy clocked up just as many Kmâs as what we did. So Snowy I hope you got your bike therapy and found some shortcuts for the big ride  . By the way thanks for smoko that was great to have a cup of coffee at that time of the ride.
So here is what your been hang for so enjoy then go prep the bike ready for your turn.

Hey Boony was the disc the only damage? If so couldnât you have taken the wheel off and removed the disc and ride out? Or unbolt the calliper and cable tie it to the fork and ride out? Both options give you a rear brake and it beats trailering your bike out. I was just wondering is all.
At least you werent hurt mateTB

Murph and SonMurph, if Boony allows it and there’s time, there’s a really good hill climb about half an hour from the lunch stop that I think Aaron has only been able to get up once

.murph the Friday ride lead by buzz will have some extreme bits and I’m not sure what Sunday holds. But the Saturday ride is not earmarked as anything but a normal trail ride due to the distance we need to travel
