I was pretty good at Short Circuit (if I do say so myself) … so I reckon I could throw the Berg sideways on slicks! :woohoo:

New track in Port Macquarie hey ??? Hmmm

    SuperMoto Riders Club re Port

I’m gonna need more than one bike … trail, mx track, and now SuperMoto! Yeah, Yeah, I know, one bike could do all of these but really, how often do I want to be swapping wheels and stuff! Time will tell :)

Sorry Admin: wrong section of the forum, not sure how to move it :pinch:

It’s not even the wheels and tyres that are different, it’s the suspension settings (valving not just clickers) and even the steering head angle on the triple clamps is quite different for Supermoto.

Chucking a set of slicks on to ride around the street is fine, you’d struggle trying to race though.

I’m with you, buy a bike for each….don’t forget Supercross and trials too ;)

A lot of guys racing just use their moto cross bike. Put a lowering link in the back, run the forks thru the clamps as far as you can, harden the compression and happy days. Factoryphil is the guy to ask he placed 6th I think in his class in the Aussie championship a few years ago and that’s all he did all series. He used the bike one week in motocross and the next week motard etc. Actually he didn’t even change his rear link sometimes because he is slack :laugh
I have been with Crash to a track day with FPhil, and a few meetings with him its exciting and great to watch the racing, pit action and setup as well. Mal5.1 has done track days and he helped me with my setup. I only slowed down my rebound, harden my compression and ran the forks thru the clamps, didn’t touch the rear height. Like Moto wrote the guns change a lot, one I know off have their headsets cut of the frame and angle adjusted and welded back on, the engine mounts cut off and the engine positioned lower in the frame, have seen it. (Didn’t win him a title but, that year guy with a much more standard setup compared to him won it)

That said I reckon buy a set of wheels and cut sic, I had just started to back mine in (a bit) and had freaked Micknmeld out over the bluetooth when I did it heading to Gingers once when smoke started coming of the rear as I backed it into the corner  :woohoo:

I have recently discussed with Mal and Crash about doing a motard ride or even a track day, umm maybe a plan forming

Hey TB, you forgot to mention, your first ride with the Motard wheels.

You know the one, where you freaked the lady out when you went through her paling fence!

Oh yeah thansk for that :P Lesson 101 for dicksheads like me, dont motard with a newly reconstructed shoulder at Glenbrook on a dead end (I didnt know it was a dead end :pinch: ) road in the rain with almost slick tyres. You end up in the fence when you run out of road and you dont want to crash because of said shoulder reconstruction still healing
Cost me a few palings and an hour fixing it afterwards, nice old lady ;)

Yep, I’m thinking the Berg for Trail, MX bike for track (might even be VMX, we’ll see), Motard “something” … and maybe trials?? Always looked like fun and intrigued me, I was into BMX (in the day), so hopping on and off things with a motor underneath you would be a hoot I reckon.

Trials and Speedway are two things I wish I did when I was racing … not much glory in either of them in those days unless you were in the UK though, so I stuck to MX/Supercross and short-circuit. My brother went TZ500 road racing but that bored the s*it our of me to be honest, really didn’t “get” the attraction of going fast on bitumen. Gimme dirt, gimme jumps, gimme obstacles :woohoo: … maybe some bitumen on a SuperMoto WITH dirt and jumps, now that would be great :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yep supermoto is FUN!!! Have a go Razzle. You don’t need anything flash for track days or even racing unless you want to win.

I got a flash set of wheels now but started with a set of RGV rims and machined them up to fit my WR400 and then the Sherco.

Takes me about an hour to change wheels over.

The supermoto club of NSW hire the Eastern Creek Go Cart center every now and then for track days. Haven’t been there myself but a mate said it was excellent. Oran Park Go Cart track was the best place I rode years ago. They put a dirt section in with 2 table tops to jump. We used to go to Wakefield Park a few times a year during the week.

This has to be the best supermoto track in the world.
