Can anyone steer me in the right direction. I’m looking at options for an aftermarket exhaust for my Honda CRF230l (2008).

What is it your looking for, more power, less noise or just to replace a broken or worn out unit?

    Hi Jeffro…

moooooooore power is at the top of the list. Not worried about the noise…. The only bit that is broken or worn out is my body.

Kat Barrett make a good pipe also and are made in the blue mountains, we used one on the project DRZ

If you are interested when Mal from Sutto’s gets back from holidays I am sure we can get you a deal. He seems to look after the ladies here hey KD

    Hi Kat,

um have you thought of seeing if something like a KTM 200 exc ( 125-300 exc seat height 985mm), or XR, TTR/WR/KLX 250 can be lowered enough to suit your height?

just it would be a far cheaper option (not potion  ) to upgrade it later on over the 230. i.e. suspension, brakes, engine tuning etc. etc. and the pipe/ muffler combo

i’m not bagging the 230 in any way, it is just that they are a less popular model ATM than the likes of the 200 exc.

and performance gains to $$$ $pent ratio is less than what could be achieved with a model that has a larger production number/ popularity, with all sorts of gear readily available almost off the shelf at most dealers

maybe ask around the dealers ,close to you if they have lowered bikes for the vertically challenged :P .

i know some put lowering links in the rear, and you can lower the forks some in the triple clamps. but how much can be gained i do not know.

what about running smaller wheels on a 250? i had the thought of if you run 17 inch on the front you could use a super motard speedo set up to get the right speed reading,

however i would not know how it would affect the overall performance of the steering, handling and suspension. and if you run 17″ on the front what size you would run on the rear?

yeah i know i’ve been of little help with your Q? and only complicated the issue  with all sorts of options you did not ask for
