Hiya
I just did an auction on the weekend(thats what i do…i’m an auctioneer)in the sale we had an old XR 350,unfortunately i didnt know it was in the sale untill saturday morning,a farmer had been using it to muster sheep.I had a yarn to the bloke who sold it cause i had never heard of a 350 b4 and he said they only ever made 100 of em.Any of you honda gurus know much about them?…we sold it for about $900…are they regarded as a “collectable” or not?
BolAugust 24, 2009 at 7:26 am #149858Nah it wasnt a collectors item Bollocks, there was 1000’s made that I know of I know of a few of them around still

August 24, 2009 at 11:42 am #149865my old next door neighbour had one that was tidy for its age, full rego. He was selling it for $2000 which he thought was a fair price, being a Honda always makes them dearer.

AnonymousI would have considered both of these bikes if I knew they were around……
August 25, 2009 at 12:40 am #149971I dont know Moto if you would have liked one, I think all models had the twin carby setup in the mid 80’s that honda had on the XR 250’s, 350’s and 500’s and as a Honda owner they where a pig of a thing hot, cold and in between. I had two 250’s and they sucked hard core! Great bike when running, when dropped hot and I did it a lot they sucked, cold wasnt much better !!!!

August 25, 2009 at 1:06 am #149986I had a xr250 that i sold to JAK (sucker) with the twin carbys. When we rebuilt the motor, my mate who is a Honda mechanic told us not to play with the carbys. He said they were a nightmare to tune.

AnonymousMy cousin had a 2 280 kitted 250’s and I seem to remember he had some issues with that. I didn’t realise they were twin carbies.
Was the common mod to replace them with a mikuni or FCR flat slide? Apparently they really help with starting.

AnonymousThanks Bollocks but I bought a KTM 200 on Sunday
August 25, 2009 at 2:21 am #149997There was an awesome CR/XR350 in Broken Hill i almost bought 3 years ago, was an ex-Thumpernats bike based on a ’92 honda CR250 frolling chassis and a XR350 powerplant, had been converted to single carb, and no they weren’t just a 250 with a bigger bore, but a ground up bike of they’re own. Very popular for a few years too.

the 400 was air all the way until it was replaced with the CRF
