I launched myself into about a 3 metre “Sinkhole” at Stotkon one time. I thought I was just going to jump aver a little grassy lump but there was nothing on the other side. The front wheel was destroyed on landing and the bike cartwheeled while I did a forward somersault landing on my lower back. I had to flag down a 4wd to get me out and ring someone to pick me and the bike up.

    Riding alone ,,were we tsk,tsk,tsk:angry:

I had a ball on the beach the other day with Moose and TB. I couldn’t get it out of my head about what sort of damage I was doing to chain and sprockets though.
I suppose that goes with the territory though. FUN COSTS!!!

Well after a big weekend at murphs, I finally got to upload some pics.

Thanks champo for showing murph and I around the dunes and saying that hill is pretty easy with a paddle tyre.

It’s a whole new world riding on that much sand. A world I dout I’ll revisit, it was hard on the bike and hard on the body (for a novice). But it was fun after a few tips from champo and the guy on the quad. Who I need to publicly thank for getting me to the top of the hill and champo for riding my bike up for me.

Here are the pics from mine and murphs cameras

Yeah its fun Mal, but I am like you I dont like how hard it is on the bike, more say chains and sprockets and the like, but cleans your rims and tyres up real good :P .

I used to live at Anna Bay and spent a bit of time there on a CR250 I had but found it was to hard on the gear all the time

I like the part sand part grass type terrain along the edge of the dunes

The blast we did the other day up north was just a run up the beach and just the one big dune which was enough, and watching Mick in the wheel ruts was priceless
