I occasionally give the lastics a spray with Electrical Silicone, leave it on a day or two, then wipe off excess with a clean rag. If left, dust will stick like Poo to a Polar Bear
It seems to soak into the plastic & restore a nice shine

Careful to not get it onto the tyres, rims, discs etc though (usually cover them up with an old bedsheet)
October 23, 2011 at 8:48 pm #210831I sometimes brake and then go around the corner
October 23, 2011 at 9:02 pm #210832I sometimes make it around the corner

August 18, 2012 at 11:34 pm #227836Just heard this tip and it sounds like a good one

Has anyone done this ?
The night before your ride get a zip tie or something similar and tie your front brake lever on. The pressure from the brake being applied over a number of hours will force any air out of the fluid and will give you a firm feeling front brake instead of a spongy one.

The bloke I bought the Husberg off reccomended doing that. He reckoned that if I didn’t the brake would get spongy when transporting the bike in the ute. I did it a few times then forgot about it, can’t say I noticed any difference. Then again a gumby ride like me wouldn’t e able to tell anyway
August 18, 2012 at 11:54 pm #228081I do that with my postie, it keeps it sharp.
My step dad has a CBR1000rr and when ever its parked at home he has a velcro strap around the front brake.

I remember Gilli used to carry a small piece of wiper blade about 3″ wide for the really wet rides, then polish off with some Dunny paper.
