My bike has done 2336 kms, 64.9 hrs and its only 6 months old

Just get a 390 Berg Nick don’t worry about dealer support, since I got my bike I only went back once for the 3 hr service to keep the warranty in check. After that I do my own service and get parts from a little bike mechanic that is 2 mins down the road or order online.

You should get a 390 as well LC as your average speed is too high at 36k no wonder I cant keep up with you!

Yeah but 300 of those were full noise south coast old bulls Araluen trip. :woohoo:

That was a sick trip Hatto!

I reckon most bikes will have an average of somewhere between 25 and 40 km/h

A lot of my riding has been single track but sometimes you have to flat track it back to camp and that brings your average speed up I guess.

Not after the Coffs Charity auction he can’t Corey !!! Yes But the price you can pick up a new one why would you buy second hand ! Especially when they are a run out model etc. There are only a few people that I know that service their bikes enough and they like their bikes. New is best unless you reeeeaaaly know the bike. IMO

I know were you can get a black 09 Wr ,garaged , hardly used only done 9000ks (some minor body damage)
Seriously why do you want a 250 the weight difference is hardly noticeable , but the power is undeniable.
Macca had a 250 wr , he had a go of the 450 and bought one the next day.

I agree, go the 450 it will be about 5kgs lighter than the drzzz but will feel way different, you can be lazy when riding, if you forget to change gear-screw on and get over that issue, easier to ride on long days. True you don’t need all that power, but if you don’t wind it on, you don’t even know it’s there, it will lug all day if it has to, great on hills etc etc (my 2 cents)

Something like below, send to Evil Rudy, good for year to come ;) under 6k

In the 24 hour trial we cover 1000 km and it is like a trail ride. Transports at 80 km and stages using mostly bottom three gears. At the end my hour meter read 14 hrs run time. So I reckon you could work on 15 hrs per 1000 km.

1000km in 15hrs is pretty fast going. That is an average of around 66km/h. Probably a little fast for an average single track/trail type bike I would have thought.

Thanks hatto I missed SB’s average that he had in his post. Is the average OZ safari only 80kph. I know that is still quick but I thought it had the fastest average speed of a race of its type and length ??? I thought it would be over 100?? The race I am comparing to is obviously the Dakar. If its only 80 I had better go and show those Smith brothers how it’s done. :silly:

Obviously a few Safari experts on here, think I will go back & keep my factual opinions to myself as it seems a few know a bit more about Safari than I do.

The original post was to compare hours to bikes & Safari bike will do the most tough K’s in the lowest hours.

Take all the Rally gear, wheel sets & fit original plastics & 95% of people will never pick it, these bikes look like new & have been flogged.

    Hey Nickj,
When I had dirt bikes years ago, The mechanic I used said to me 1hr dirt riding creates wear and tear like 80km on the road.
So 10hrs of dirt work would be like 800kms road wear and tear.
Maybe a point to work off.

I think you are being a touch umm, umm maybe you have read it wrong SB. I read it as someone that hasnt done it only seen the highlights when they are pinned and finished with a tongue in cheek remark see his ” :P :silly: “
I actually from Condo events would have thought it lower in the 70s given its an average

Remember its hard to see what people mean ;)

I have no idea what the average speed is in the safari that Is why I asked what the average was. I was hoping somebody could tell me. Unless it already been told and I did not listen … that has happened before. I should only be taken seriously 1% of the time. If that!

Look at the bike not the hour meter. its how its maintained thats important.
I would take zero notice of an hour meter or a speedo on a motorbike if I was buying second hand. They tell you nothing.
