Howdy Old Bulls
Been riding for the last five years after a bit of a break from bikes. Got back into them after a ten year passion for rock climbing. Puting a bit too much weight on for climbing now days but still need the adrenelin rush. My first passion is surfing but riding is close behind. Live on the western side of Lake Macquarie so we have good access to the bush. Keen to ride new areas. Currently riding an 07 KTM 525. Previous rides include DT175, IT465, IT490, TT600, GPZ1100, TT250, DR600, 04 KTM525, CT110 Postie, 07 KTM525.
Cheers

Good to see you worked out this internet forum thingy after a few phone calls and detailed emails.
You failed to mention that during your ‘passion’ for rock climbing, you were commomnly known as the ‘Newcastle Legend’. To us anyway.
Don’t forget to keep checking in mate. We’ll organise a ride at stockton in May.

AnonymousWelcome aboard Murph, I ride up in the Wattie’s and have a couple of blokes I go out with. I also have a young whipper snapper at work who lives somewhere near Toronto and is keen to take me out and show me some local trails
We’ll have to catch up and go for a burn

We live at Rathmines and I have most of the better tracks sussed from West Wallsend to Martinsville. Just about to explore the area around the Pines in the Watto’s. Always keen to go and throw some dirt, the only hassle is that I work shift so I only get every second weekend off. Plenty of time through the week though.
SeeyaMarch 25, 2009 at 9:33 pm #126638Hey Mal
Just been talking to a Dude (In “ride gatherings”) who is going riding at Wauchope this weekend. Turns out he has ridden up near Dads farm. Did we go out to the waterfall the weekend you came up?
Wayne and I were going riding today but he has turned into a greedy greedy operater and he has gone to work.
Cheers Roy.March 25, 2009 at 9:47 pm #126803
AnonymousSounds good Murph, I know my way around the top of the Wattie’s but can’t link loops up just yet. I’m better in the South end. Ollie knows his way around pretty good though and if you can handle riding slow everywhere isn’t a bad bloke to go riding with
Sounds like we”ll have to plan a Sat or Sun when you not working a get a few boys out starting from Wallsend and moving down through the Wattie’s. Maybe you can lead the start of the ride and Ollie can lead the Wattie’s part.
I’m going to the A4DE in mid April so we could sort something out after that
March 26, 2009 at 12:40 am #126807Sounds like a good plan, would like to explore the wallsend side for sure. Have just completed a few good tracks, mostly single trail starting from Wishing well park, over to Muirs lookout cutrock rd then working back to the Pines then more Single track back to greens firebreak then down to wishing well again, about 70 K’s, Gili’s WR went onto reserve but the gasser still had plenty. Oh yeh and I was only going sloooow:laugh:
