Hope this is the right section.
I have fitted a Barrett end cap to my standard Berg FE450 muffler. I have had to modify the baffle so it didn’t just blow all the packing out. I might have fitted it wrong but it didn’t really work as well as I hoped. Well made though.
Anyway, I think I might buy a new muffler. I am thinking Akrapovic might be the go. Any ideas on whats good and whats not. I want a nice note but I don’t want anything that is going to be overly loud. A bit of extra crack from the motor would be nice too.

Ring and speak with Jason Barrett re the end cap. You won’t meet a nicer more helpful guy than Jason. Try that first I reckon

I fitted a FMF 4.1 Titanium to my 570, fitment was easy, super light, about 100mm shorter then standard, came with 94db insert and spark arrestor insert, I purchased it from Riders Discount in the US via eBay, was delivered to my door for $358au
has a nice note to it even with the 94db insert fitted, it may be just me but the bike seems to run a bit cooler, so I guess the exhaust flow has increased.
I am very happy with it so far and would highly recommend it over a Akro, had an Akro on my last Berg and hated the Carbon brackets, they rub the pipe and are expensive to buy if you brake them
    Hope this helps

I just bought an FMF Powercore 4 (1 down from the 4.1 though I’m waging the difference in perfomance is negligable) for $280 delivered from the States. It’s Stainless and not Titanium but on a bike weighing best part of 125Kg’s with a 110Kg rider sat on top I figured the extra 0.5Kg weight saving wasn’t going to turn me pro. The extra strength will be a bonus the first time I throw into some rocks too.

I had a Wings Ti pipe on my old 450 with a carbon end cap, looks pretty but doesn’t take the hits like steel/Ti will. The Akro’s are good pipes but for the money they are hard to justify.

I fitted a Barrett to my TE310, when it arrived, I looked down the pipe and there was one flat perforated sheet ‘washer’ between the end of the pipe the the exhast valves! I thought I’d be noisy as buggery with that little back pressure but the bike is only very slightly louder than stock in one section of the noise range (lower end of the spectrum) and the bike performs much better. Pipe is well made, fitted easily and well (less than 5minutes to swap) and impressed all my mates. B)
Locally made by a Guy who supports Ol’ Bulls, how could you go wrong?
Suggest you go with the Barrett, after all, you’ve already go the end cap!! :woohoo:
    Cheers Iva
