G’ all
I NEED SOME HELP PLEASE
I am looking at getting a Husky TE 510 2009. But have heard rumors that they blow fuse when they get wet and over heat. Is this ture or fales the bikes i have seen for sale have 1500-3000km on them. Also could you please tell me if there is anything you need to look out for in TE510. Regards Tom (Yammyman)
June 2, 2011 at 8:06 pm #202408I have read that they will crack the filament in the oem fuses as a result of a piss poor mount on the sub frame that lets the fuse holder bounce around.
There is also a fuel pump mod you can do from all accounts, search this site. http://www.cafehusky.com for relevant info on the TE510.
There is also a power cable running from the battery that should be re routed as it will wear through and short out on the frame. Read here. Husky fire risk
I rode a brand new one at a test day and found it to be to tall for my likings. It had gobs of power and would be a handfull in the tighter stuff for the average trailrider. I found the 450 a lot easier to get along with on the day.
That is about all I know about them.

It;s very rare I hear anything good lately about Huskys but’s that’s only what I’ve heard. My Mates bro has one and we always joke about making sure we take a tow rope cause everytime we go out it breaks down, serious.

June 2, 2011 at 11:35 pm #202411Mates got a 09 510 around 4,000k hasn’t been any trouble other than a blown headlight fuse,a brittle side cover (black ones) and a few fork seals. Easy to throw around singles, doesn’t feel heavy at all jumping off my 2T,seems easy to stall for me any way, possible reason a lot of blokes drop in recluse’s,or maybe just need to get used to riding it.
