Tiny has never broken a foot peg Chris, the bolts break because of the poor design and Tiny’s, well, not Tiny!

It shouldn’t really be a major issue, although as I said I know of Huskies. Just when you think of every car that FI and all the aftermarket knocking about on them.
The ECU should be adaptive, although it may alter timing to compensate for the exhaust which makes the bikes run less well. I know the Husaberg’s already have new maps programmed for various stages of aftermarket tuning
As you said, best thing is to consult your dealer.

I,m waiting for the bike shops to re-open as the dealer said he found a pipe that may be compatible…you can throw a LEO VINCE X3 on it no propbs. i think it comes with all the Goodies for the FI. to cope with it. Apparently they get rather loud when your under it though. I still reckon you should check out the Cafehusky site though. they will answer anything, help out with any tech stuff as well. Those crazies are running them from sea level to 14,000 feet, just to see if the Injection can handle it??? I still think its nobbled somewhere? the Cats shouldnt make a diff. to it. PS> the pipe has a pair of them in it…explains why it gets soo bloody hot…So many burns Have I.

AnonymousTwo cats in the pipe  It must be like dragging your leg across the exhaust header!

I got a 3deg. burn on the right bicep, trying to hump the thing into the back of a ute. it touched me for just a frag of a sec…@#@$%^ thing !! I’m looking at tossin the heat shields and using pipe wrap. i reckon it will drop off heat and LOOK better too….maybe..:S

I’ll bet a buck ..if he cleans thte mating surfaces ….no more probs. they have weld and uneven surfaces…hit em a file..Job done.

The good thing about my Ti exhaust is that is has reduced the heat of the silencer section to a temperature that you can touch with your hand. Even after a hard ride!
Some heat wrap may be a good idea by the sounds of it

I have some serious plans for the whole system. I want to piss the ugly heat shields off and throw a barrett on the end of it. Heat wrap from the header back to the slip on. I’ve heard just puttng a barrett on it drops some serious heat. The heat shields just rattle/vibrate.I hate sounds like that coming from the bussiness area.

AnonymousYeah, I wouldn’t like rattly sounds either
I’m going to heat wrap my header to just short of the muffler as the header pipe dips behind the frame. Will save melting bike pants and may even direct some of the radiant heat away from the cylinder head in the slower stuff
Sounds like you have a little project on the go Husky, you should take some pics of the progress and post them up
January 7, 2009 at 2:27 am #117140Yeah…I’ll try as i go..I have no issue with overheating to date, been in some very tight spots in very Humid heat..mates DRZ boiled, te 510 boiled..te610 Purrrrrrrrrrrrred all day..snarled a few times, bruised me a few times, but kept on purring. Strange i haven’t burnt riding pants but I sure have melted some side plates…LOL.
January 7, 2009 at 2:30 am #117141MOTO, by Ti..do you mean Titanium? If yes, have you got the littler shields on the header? I hear they can get pin holes in them? Akrapovic make a nice system for these but $1800 is a touch high…Would be nice though..

AnonymousYeah, I meant Titanium
The header doesn’t have any shields? It dips behind the frame above the right footpeg and shorty after connects directly to the muffler. I don’t have the full Ti system, just the muffler.
I was going to get the Akro but it was more expensive, not in stock and didn’t offer any power gains over the (Wings) exhaust that I ended up with. The Wings gear is awesome quality and must have been one third the weight of the standard unit.
January 9, 2009 at 11:43 pm #117203Thanks for all the advice…. I went riding down Grafton way last weekend and met a bloke with an 08 Husky 610… He has pissed the cats off… removed the o2 sensor and put a Barret pipe on…. he reckons it goes like shit off a shanghai, it’s not too loud and doesn’t get as hot…. sounds good to me.

AnonymousThe ECU should do most of the work compensating for the changes. Removing the cats will certainly get rid of alot of the heat produced.
I’m not sure how you can remove the O2 sensor without the modifying the ECU though? It’s part of the fuel/air ratio control loop. My old Toyota Supra used to drop into a safe mode (cuts boost to turbo’s) if the O2 sesnor returned a fault signal or was removed.

Thank god after reading 30 odd quality posts of Moto’s  (busy today, you amaze me, you da man)I stumble across this one, its a good correct response that is informative. I would give karma Moto but its 15mins I will never get back. Oh hang it karma anyway as this one is good, well done. All pollution related senors have a performance derate feature if disconnected ( as the pollution side wont work correctly ) or the sensor fails, so people have to get it fixed
