Husqvarna is a fabulous brand with poor representation in the Hastings area, which is a real shame.

Fossil we get you are not happy with the above dealership, you worked there and left unhappy because why I dont know or need to. Open forum dicates your comments will remain, please dont make commets regarding the dealers wife or anyones wife again like you did thats not cricket and won’t be tolerated
Thank you
March 14, 2009 at 9:23 am #125605Hey mick looking forward to what you think of the 510, I still have an idea kicking around in my melon.
March 14, 2009 at 10:05 am #125834The trails they had set out, was 1st and 2nd gear stuff which made me very busy on the 510, I stalled it twice and the damn thing wouldn’t start in gear, you also had to hold the clutch in when you started it (which I spose is still better than holding a decomp lever).
It is a very fast bike, I also got to give it a go on a straight bit of tar,it wanted to wheelstand (although I wouldn’t allow it) in the first 3 gears. It wound out to 100km (no more) in no time at all, and it obviously had more power to burn. It is the kinda bike,if ridden around town, would eventually cost you your licence.A bike more suited to a Hillend type ride.
It was a bit taller than the 250 and seemed a lot top heavier and generally harder to ride in the tighter stuff.
The 250 4st felt a lot smaller and was easier to throw my leg over. On the road, after riding the 510 it felt a bit doey, and never once tried to lift the front wheel on its own accord.Once it hit the single trail,if you are prepared to rev it, it will go like the clappers and handle like a treat, It turns and stops like a XR doesn’t. If single trail is all you did this is a perfect bike, I would put an after market pipe on it as I am sure there is more power there to be tapped. I heard talk of ADR restrictors, but I dunno if they were still in the bike or not.
I didn’t get to ride the 2 banger 300’s as I was a bit too stuffed,Gasit and RiderX might tell us about them, as they had a ride.
Moose had a go on the 450 and by all accounts he was very impressed.March 14, 2009 at 10:10 am #125838Good job Mick, thanks

Apparently, according to recent studies, the 610 has a tendency to highside, so they deemed it unsuitable for us OLD fellas to ride……..LOL
March 14, 2009 at 10:28 am #125840in all fairness wr300 and 310for stoke you could not give an honest report i liked the 300 wr it had good power but wont start in gear the 310 did not seem to steer as well the track was 1and2 gear stuff if you could ride them for half a day on tracks that you know and move the controls to suit you would know if you liked them but first impression of the wr300 it had good power
March 14, 2009 at 10:30 am #125842Now wish I had a go on the 300 banger.
March 14, 2009 at 10:31 am #125843i will remind you tiny i did ride you 610 up a hill for you lol

Menace if you can still get in, and you can make it, the Kowen Forest ride will have a demo loop with most of the bike brands available including BMW.
See my thread in Ride Gatherings.
I’m not sure but you may not have to be entered to go for a demo ride – check with DSMRA.
Cheers….. bait got spat out!March 16, 2009 at 5:47 am #126004WikdBeemer wrote:

He was only telling you there was a ride on, the fact you can’t make it beacuse you can get past the Mehicano border isn’t our fault
