It was race day again at the HVMCC and there was a pretty good contingent of Old Bulls there, barracking their kids on.
KTMRAT had his two boys racing the 65cc and 85cc classes, Gasit had his daughter racing the 85’s, Toes was racing in the over 35’s on the CR125 he bought off me as well as his son and daughter in the 85’s. Puddles was there too, with his son in the 65’s and his daughter in the 85’s. Connor raced in the 85’s and Taylah was ripping around in the 50cc class on her new pro senior.
Connor was riding really well and in his first heat he got the holeshot but was quicky swamped by the field in the 2nd corner and he eventually rode to 5th place in that heat.
In heat two, he was sitting comfortably in 6th when he got cross rutted which ended badly with a highside, the bike flooded and wouldn’t start (thanks for helping him Dave),by the time it started he was way behind and finished last,he still finished so I was proud of him still.
In his last heat, again he was in 6th when, the 4th and 5th riders came together and crashed which put him in 4th and that is where he finished the race, his best result yet.
Taylah took to the new bike well and was tearing around the track like a demon until she had an off track foray, which resulted in her hitting a plastic 20 litre drum which sent her and the bike cart wheeling in a spectacular fashion. The bike landed on her and that was bringing the squarks out of her for a while but she eventually picked herself up and finished the heat.
Dave’s youngest bloke Lachlan did well and won the 65cc class, he showed plenty of form that would have pleased Dave to no end. He also showed plenty of form when it comes to acceptance speeches…LOL
Toes was impressive in the over 35’s riding the CR125, even getting the holeshot in heat 3. He was riding against blokes on 450’s and still managed to get 2nd place for the day, a great return to racing for the mad bastard.

Here are a few photos from the day.

Mick the day was certainly a cracker, the track was really wet and with the rain we have had recently there was so much ground water, I think all involved had a great day. When Connor fell down infront of me I ws so upset for him , he was indeed doing one of his best ever efforts out there, and in those muddy conditions, Choice!!!!!, Man that little speed demon queen of yours she is incredible, the way she was going around was faster than most of the boys….You go girl.
Lachlan and Sam both had real good days with great results, Lachlan has remained unbeaten this year and hs set himself a goal to try and get the whole year done with 1st place podiums all season, and I think if he can keep it topgether he may have a chance, but there are a few there that are capable of getting him, we will see
How did that stack of Little Cheynos look man, I was the first one to him, and I still dont know how I did it, although I cant walk today, it is amazing what we can do if we have to, Thanks for helping out with the running of the day, it would not happen without the likes of you guys doing what you do…..only drama is we have to wait till next weekend to race:)

I forgot to mention that Puddles Kids the Puddetts, did so well that Jamie should be proud of herself for posting a personal best in one of the Motos, she actually stood up most of the way and found she could get the next gear happening, it looked great and I have not seen speed like that from her before, Yehah !!!, and her legs were sore the next day as well, so she must have been doing something right. YOU GO GIRL.
