Which in itself is nothing startling. The odd thing was both times when I got up my forks had twisted and my wheel was say 5-10 degrees off straight in line with the handle bars. I just put the wheel up against a tree a straightened it back up. I have had a lot of stacks in the last few years but this is the first time I can remember the forks twisting and then it happens twice in a couple of hours.

Does this mean that the triple clamps might be loose. I know you don’t want them over tight.

Should I loosen everything off and bounce it up and down a bit to get everything aligned before doing it back up or should I just harden up, ignore it and concentrate more on staying vertical.

    yeah roy,

maybe you just fluked it both times, but maybe its loose

id loosen it and bounce it and retorque it up just to be sure.

and lift the bike and check the headstem bearing for movement while youre there too. ;)

Yeah I agree with Menace probably more a fluke and loosen and bounce it Roy. The tension for the bolts clamping the tubes is stuff all, enough so it doesnt move while riding, loose enough so there can be some movement during a crash to stop stuff getting twisted or bent. Also overtightened clamp bolts can cause binding and other damage
