gooday tigers.
my name is dennis. im commonly refered to as ‘menace’, for reasons unbeknowned to myself. im a 37yo, fat, balding bloke who’s fortunately married to a top chick called sam. we have a 12yo 4-legged furchild named Tonka, who’s not tuff and still thinks he’s a pup. im an electrician by trade. my 3 favourite smells are hot mud, 2 stroke and johnny walker. not always in that order.
i was lucky enough to find a spankin new kato 300 under the xmas tree the other week. electric leg and all. i would have loved to see the fat man get that down the chimney!
ha!
ive been roosting around for 10 years or so now, mainly around south/west gippsland, (glenmaggie region, for any locals) which is in victoria if your from the rest of the world. if your ever around there and you see bark scraped off a tree, ive probably kissed it. i have a habit of getting too close to nature! i dunno why the greenies hug trees, ive always found it to be a one sided love. everytime ive been intimate with one they have never called or come to see me in hospital. maybe im being to forceful in my aproach??! i try to ‘leaf’ them alone these days.
now for todays history lesson…..
i bought my first bike for a slab in ’98. it was an ’88 TT250. it was a gutlessly good bike but i/we werent too good keeping up with my mate on his new ktm250 2 smoker… it was a steep smokey blue learning curve for me and the yama-lounge chair. then i came across a TT350 (woo.. big bore)that a farmer used to round his bulls up with. it was immac. that was in ’99, it was a ’91 model and it had only 1920km on the clock. whats that a year, you do the math, i am shit at it!
the old girl did me well till i detroyed her and myself trying to be the bush version of seth enslow. i couldnt understand why my bones healed while the TT sat in a mangled pile on the garage floor and didnt repair itself. 12 months of rehab meant no more roosting for a while.
a couple a years passed and i came across an ’89 kdx200. my eyes suddenly opened and i saw the screaming white light that is ‘the 2 stroke’. i was hooked. i revved that thing into the next dimension for years. it loved it. i sold it to a kid up the road for more than i paid and its still goin today.
i had a small relapse for a year when i bought a VOR400. what a missile that was. good bike but i was scared sh*tless that id bust it and be stuck with an expensive italian pot plant holder.
now im back from the dark and ive got the kato. what a machine. there is only three words for the 300,… F**K ME SIDEWAYS!!!
so now ive got this shiny new bike and no one to ride with. all the boys are either fat, old, lazy, married, have tackers or all of the above.
my lovely wifey rides too, shes got a DT175 that she putts around on. shes always up for a ride but she cant understand that the 300 cant go that slow and therefore calls me various names.
so im on the hunt for clubs to join to ride with. pity you lot are in NSW. i think you need to start the ‘mexican chapter’ down here for us simple folk.well enough dribble from me, ive got a bike to polish… and dishes to do…d’oh.
…..yes dear,
cheers, dennis.

AnonymousWelcome to OBT Menace.
I would usally try and start a silly colour war, with you being an Orange rider and all. But since it’s a new year and I’m a lover not a fighter I will leave you alone. Congratulations on the big orange Christmas present that the fat man left you. I am sure it will give you a few minutes, I mean a lot of years of fun.Welcome my brother.

im not a man of anger but a humble god fearing soldier.
i believe in the good book the deciple Kato says…“fear not my brother, dont hide, crouched like the lotus, behind your blue wall of angst, wondering why it wont start. for the lord shall shine to you the great orange light and you will be humbled so, and fall to your knee and embrace the grunt of the orange and scream haleujah….
