reading many forums whilst playing with accesories i found alot of reports regarding intake valve adjustments early.
At 1500 i strongly reccomend you check them yourself as i trusted it to be done in the workshop service (stupid to expect detailed maintenance unless you do it yourself!)
It apparently was checked , but later admitting that it wasn’t
at 3200km i found my bike having trouble starting and started making enqieries
thankfully the shop took my suggestions on hand and had a good look
Intake was to tight and the shim needed replacing , so there was my new bike in bits because of know it all mechanics whom think they know it all (regardless what inspection scheduale states)

IF YOU OWN A 450 TAKE NOTE AND CHECK THOSE VALVES EARLY AND FREQUENTLY AS IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM THROUGHOUT MOTO THREADS
GOOD LUCK FELLOW QUACKA HEADS:silly:

    Sound advice Aarochild
    I check/adust my Kato v/v’s every 800 to 1000kms
I have little faith in shop service schedules:(
    Cheers

do the klx suffer the same as the klr?

i know the klr has to be checked/adjusted regularly.

a friend has a mid 90’s klr, you know it’s time to do them when it won’t start on the kicker but will push start.
