October 22, 2009 at 9:13 pm #157677sitting here in the office,,mind is wandering aimlessly off with the thought of unloading the bike on paddys fire trail and then attacking the single trail leading to the pines, small mono`s through the puddles, fighting for grip on the clay, powering up the loamy hills,
Aww dam I just spilt me coffee.. Is it 4.00 yet.

A riding buddie used to work on local golf course layout. He built a series of high speed doubles into it. So if the club ever closes down…
At another mates mtb shop we thought it would be a great idea to race around the showroom on the nifty 50. the next day however, we were not so sure about all the skids and burnouts on his expensive floor
October 22, 2009 at 9:34 pm #157682We had a bit of a 50 track around our house where we would race our pee wee 50’s,until the missus put a stop to it saying the berms and rutts that where forming made it hard to mow the lawn. So no more pee wee racing allowed.
It was fun while it lasted!!

Never had a dragster unfortunately, but we would also put a coke can between the back wheel and frame.
Also our bikes became X-wing star fighters after Stars Wars came out.
One of my mates had a replica XR that was actually a push bike but it had all the bits ie suspension, fuel tank etc. Bloody thing weighed a tonne.
October 22, 2009 at 10:19 pm #157684Keep this talk up and I might just have to go jump on my bike or a blast down Plommer Rd
Bugger it. I think I will anyway :woohoo: :woohoo:
October 22, 2009 at 10:46 pm #157685Ha Ha Ha Ha
And I thought I was mad for sitting down at the lake on a windy day and dreaming I was an ant surfing the 4 to 6 inch waves coming around Rathmines point
Cheers

October 22, 2009 at 11:28 pm #157687Slight up hill single trail, ground is loamy with heaps of grip, small log across the track , blip the throttle and the front wheel pops up and the bike tracks sweetly over the log, the corner coming up is a great sweeping left hander, and you can see through it further up the track, tap the rear down shift into 3rd and back it in to the corner the on comes the power and you are doing a slight one wheel power slide out the other side, ..
Ohh crapp the phone just rang and woke me…

October 22, 2009 at 11:39 pm #157691I love holding my hand out the car window at 100kph and angling my hand so that it gets pushed up and down and imagining it is claering doubles and landing sweetly in the pocket everytime.
Some are short gaps and some are long floaters

And i always suss out the free way for hill climbs to see if there do-able the ones cut into rock, doesn’t do much for keeping in the lanes though.
