Did a deal today and traded one of the YZ’s (not the insane bombed to the eyeballs one though) for a 2008 KLX450r with 6000kays on the clock.

Damn thing is neat and tidy.

Took it for a ride today in the forest……… It’s ok I guess.

I mean it is so easy to ride, just ate up any hillclimbs I pointed it at and so easy to wheelie. Single track was a bit of a pain as the suspension is set very soft. I’ll play with the clickers and see if I can get it better.

Not sure if I will keep it as it hasn’t really excited me yet. I’m so use to the instant snap of the YZ that this just felt so tame. I might look at a 4T with some more snap or go back to a regoed 2T.

    I`m with Rocket there ;)

Most are happy with the Kwaka 450 power with little mods required (maybe a pipe & jetkit)
But coming from a 2T I guess it`s like chalk & cheese

The Kwaka is renowned for smooth delivery of power, maybe that`s not what you like Captain :silly:

Maybe it’s just me. Maybe I need all 50 horses hitting at once to feel alive. :woohoo: I just didn’t get the same bowel loosening feeling of,,,, lets call it, excitment shall we, that I get when riding the YZ.

I rode an R1 a few weeks ago and all I could think as the speedo climbed and the front wheel got light was,,, “OH PLEASE LET THERE BE MORE!!!!” :woohoo: :woohoo:

I’ll give the KLX another go later in the week and try some more technical stuff and see what I think.

    Thanks guys.

    pipe and jetting kit.

12/50 is nice a 12/52 should make it nicer again but you will never get a YZ snap out of them but i love mine.

Best dirt bike ever made STM

My Brother just went to 12/51 on his KLX, I reckon it will chew out chain guides and front sprocket pretty quick, but that the price you pay to have it like you want it

I viewed this post as I saw it was posted by a respectable and knowledgeable Old Bull :) and gentleman

However much to my dissapointment I discover it’s been hacked by a young whipper snapper :P

    Adam.
