    Hey Jeffro,
Great stuff there mate!! :woohoo: Well done. The other breather that you have circled is just for the diaphram to move up and down. on the original carby it went up under the tank to atmosphere. Nothing to worry about mate well done.

    Cheers,
    Lefty

Hopefully it is a little better on fuel than the old carby, let me know how you get on with it.

    Jeffro,
    hope the carby works OK
The DR650’s have a small filter attached to a short length hose to the diaphragm breather to help keep a bit of dust out. It sits under the seat at the back of the tank.
    Might be worth doing

Thankd Mick but that is the carby I took out, the one I put in doesn’t have the breather.

Rode about 200km today in all sorts of terrain, form 110km/h highway to rutted muddy trails and she ran perfectly. The only complaint really is that the throttle action is quite stiff.

Jeffo if I remember correctly your throttle grip rubs on the end of the bar at the bar end. Just check it out and make sure it is ok. Or the other carbie may have a stronger return spring. Glad to hear that she ran well mate. Was it better on fuel?

    Cheers,

When I picked the bike up from Lefty I rode it home getting fuel at Colo on the way. I did 222km before refueling it and it took 12.5 litres which works out at 5.63l per 100km.

After I put the other carby on I rode it o friday and did 235km on a variety of roads and trails, I refueled it today and it took 11.4 litres wich wokrs out at 4.85l/100km.

Although it’s not a perfect test as I didn’t ride the same roads and trails as last time and I also varied the throttle a lot more last time running it in on the open sections, that should give me around 350km per tank.
