If anyone is interested I am organising a ride for the long weekend in June.
Venue: Harvey Ranges AKA Goobang National Park south of Dubbo
Date: Monday the 8th of June 2009
Riding: Mostly tight fire trails, steep and rocky in places, open with sand-on-hardpack in other places. Some open single trail. Loops of about 90-95km.Features: The lookout at the Trig station, The Widowmaker (I want to get up this one) and plenty of tracks.
General: This is national park and as such you will need rego, licence etc etc. We will park the vehicles in an unsecured spot, I have never had a problem, but can’t guarantee anything unfortunately. Sign of the times.
Some pics from my last trip there:
The lookout:
Top of the Widowmaker
Bottom of the Widowmaker

ScottMay 31, 2009 at 11:27 am #137211Well if you blokes are keen, lets make it the Monday, meet on the Tomingley Road where the access road to the park goes in, at 8am. We should be able to get in a couple of loops in the day at least. Bring fuel for 200+km.
TB, you’re on, we will tee a ride up for sure! Failing that we are sorting out some tracks around Orange and could use some more local knowledge. Will let you know when it happens.

TBJune 3, 2009 at 4:19 am #137917Ha! This ride is:
