January 10, 2010 at 6:56 pm #167828Holy crap man!!! Makes my eyes water just looking at that!! I hate seeing XR’s get hurt.
It put a fair kink in your tank too.OH yeah that pic of your melon looks bad too…LOL. What is it a stick or something?? Looks painful. You must be a tough SOB.
Love the bush mechanic stuff, necessity is the mother of all invention. Jam a set of Renthal fat bars on her and all will be good.
Cheers
MickJanuary 10, 2010 at 7:34 pm #167829How true necessity is the mother of all invention
To bad that didnt happen in PNG, you would have slid straight into one of those tribes with the strange body decorations. How far in was the stick? I have the same big tank, does yours have the brace across the front between the tank pods? The radiators look unmarked with is incredible considering. So where did this custom body art and bike modification take place and how did it happen?

January 11, 2010 at 1:52 am #167826That’s what I call being lucky when you’re unlucky. How far can you get on a tank.
January 11, 2010 at 3:17 am #167897it vairys if the bike is working about 380kms per tank but if i take it easy im looking at 500kms its 26lts australian made safari tank
January 13, 2010 at 12:25 am #167831Smithy where did you go when you got to Glendenbo? How long did it take from Ceduna? And did you have a support vehicle?

January 13, 2010 at 3:42 am #167827Looks fn painful Smithy and would have been hard to concentrate with, but how far in did that sucker go?
lucky it wasn’t any higher.January 13, 2010 at 2:54 pm #168086this was the 2nd time we rode googs but because i broke my bars and i got the stick in my face we had to turn around and ride back to ceduna for treatment but the first time we rode googs track we left ceduna at 6am get to glendambo late afternoon no support vehicle we take wot we need once we get to glendambo it a quick bite to eat fuel up then we drop down in between lake Everard and lake Gairdner go to a place called mt ive cattle station fuel up then head to iron knob then home to whyalla
January 13, 2010 at 7:59 pm #168121Whats the longest km stretch between fuel Smithy. I have the same tank as you but others that may go haven’t got as big a tanks.

January 13, 2010 at 10:48 pm #168123Wow what a stack I hope your face heals up quick you sure are lucky the stick didn’t go any higher you must be a tough old bugger get well soon so you can get back on it :cheer:
January 14, 2010 at 2:21 pm #168135my tank is 26lts googs track from fuel to fuel is about 300kms but googs track is very soft sand u have to keep the revs up or u sink
theres about 250 steep sand hills with sharp crests on top for the entire ride your working hard even though ive got a safari tank i still have to carry an extra 5lts so thats 31lts and by the time u get to glendambo theres not much more than vapours in the tank
fill the tank and the 5 lt bottle to get to mt ive station use it all then just fill the tank for the last 320km dash home
no fuel in iron knob its pretty much a ghost town with about 60 people
