Hi Kat…after looking at the photo of your bike on your trailer it appears that you are not using a “tie down strut” that goes between the bike’s front wheel and guard underneath the triple clamps.
Refer Ballard’s website link below…scroll down the web page and you will see a photo and details of short & long versions:

February 12, 2011 at 6:52 pm #196738Having seen it on the other trailer in the flesh Mick I don’t think anything other than a small read real small mini bike seal saver brace would fit. The 230 doesn’t have all that much travel Cause she had it lowered and Kat has it all the way thru the triple tree to lower it thus the gap is even less. A block of wood shaped would be better maybe?
Kat Sutto’s as I am sure other shops do have tie downs with safety ends also that are worth their weight in gold and if you talk with Scott he maybe able to find a seal saver small enough and get the tie downs with OBT discount being much cheaper than Ballards
In fairness I have seen and helped Kat tie her bike on the trailer more than a few times and she does a good job, which makes me thing something happened were the straps cut Kat??

February 12, 2011 at 6:55 pm #196741Hi Mick…. will PM you cause not sure what you mean by the triple clamp??
February 12, 2011 at 6:56 pm #196742Thanks TB, good points…it was just a constructive suggestion…I am sure Kat does a good job
By the way, I wouldn’t want to enrage her, she has already threatened to slap me LOLFebruary 12, 2011 at 7:02 pm #195595Kat, sorry to hear and see the demise of your tiedowns. After almost losing my old TY250 near Mudgee, I have invested in some better tiedowns and tie the ‘tail’ of the strap overand around the hook so it dont move. I have also installed eyebolts on the trailer so no strap is rubbing anywhere.

Well glad to hear that the ride went well and you all had a goog time.
cheers Teza.February 12, 2011 at 7:33 pm #196744Kat grab yourself a 2 litre plastic orange juice bottle (or similar) to use as a seal/fork saver.

February 12, 2011 at 8:47 pm #196750Kat ,,do me a favour , and go out and measure the distance between the top of your front wheel/tyre and the bolts that hold your front mudguard onto the bike,.. I will fabricate a fork saver for you. And just take you trailor to your local bike shop and get them to help you find the best position for you tie down eyelettes so your tie downs dont rub.
Boony.
February 12, 2011 at 8:51 pm #196751Good Job Boony, and as far as the eyelets go Kat, when you bring the trailer around to repack the wheel bearing we will go and get some eyelets and fit them then if you want
Good idea Boons

We will make Kat a solid one, so theres no issue of the forks compressing and thus making the tiedowns become loose when ever the bike dounces on the trailer, I thinks Aido.. yep the good old oil bottle does do a fair job, but lets get Kat soughted with a good one and then the jobs done hey!.

I got a set of these before my Victorian trip a couple weeks ago and they are very good. Plus $10 cheaper than Ballards or the MCAS ones. And Australian made.
Why did you come through Kangaroo Valley? Should have just come down the coast through Wollongong, not so twisty.
