Day one is done and it was everything you expect on Mikes rides. The group has good pace and we rode some awesome single and a few massive hills. It is dry and loose which adds to the challenge. Today will be a big one with 120 km’s planned. There will be plenty of reports and pics to come. Lets just hope eveyone forgets about my 7 attempts on one big hill.

October 6, 2013 at 11:17 am #250458So another years ride done and hopefully it was enjoyed by everyone
With the crew arriving at the campsite by midday it wasn’t long before we were gearing up and heading out for a few hourswith dry and dusty conditions (like the rest of Australia!!) I tried to find a few non dusty tracks but they were hard to find  we got into some singles which led us to the first hill  we ended up spending about 45mins on this hill as the numbers at the top slowly grew as did the heckling as riders madetheir attempts
From here we did a selection of stuff with some really nice singles and a loop round past the mx track and a climb up the hill by the side which everyone made without a problem  this is by no means an easy hill so
After covering 50ks we made our way back to the campsite for a few beers :sick:Sunday report to come

October 7, 2013 at 4:34 am #250489Here’s a quick teaser to see what we got unto on the weekend. Be sure to put the quality at 720p
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjBZmq75z1U&feature=youtu.beOctober 7, 2013 at 5:38 am #250490It was a good weekend with a good crew to ride with. It was nice to see Scotty, Nato and Spud again and also meet the new faces as well.
The ride both days had a good pace only ally hindered by the dust which was unescapable. Mike did a great job of linking up the trails though and finding more stuff for us all to ride, I don’t think I’ve ridden about 40% of those trails and I’ve been living up here 6 months!
The hills were loose and shaley but we all got up in the end, one way or the other. Next year we’ll have to do a 3 dayer with a Monday ride in as well, not sure if my air filter could take anymore punishment though
Thanks to Damo also for sweeping almost all of the 2 days. Not pics or vid from me but I’m looking forward to Nato, Scotty and Spuds efforts when they get the chance.
Until next time……
October 7, 2013 at 9:14 am #250500Well what a weekend!! I had a great time with everything going pretty well except for a bit of dust though i have seen a lot worse. Saturday was a 5.30am start from Rocky for me and i had a pretty good run down. Arriving in Kenilworth i spotted Smally and Spud so i pulled up there and began the catch ups, STM and Lee were not far behind. Damo rocked up with the rest of the local crew and popped up his taj mahal resort tent!! After a quick gday we geared up and got out of town and into some sweet flowing singles and some sneeky hill climbs with one in particular hill pulling up most of the pack for at least a 2nd attempt to get to the top. I got stuck 3/4 of the way up only to have Lee pass me doing about 6 million kph!! Eventually everyone was at the top and STM was pretty banged up after his 7 never say die attempts (Legendary effort) i was tired just watching! and as he arrived Mike said “oh well we will keep moving then” STM’s face was priceless haha. The rest of saturday was pretty smooth flowing with a few nice hills and some snotty stuff also. Arriving back at the camp had everyone washing some dust down with a few beers and the Mid pack stories started with some great moments had by all.. Will write more later
October 7, 2013 at 9:45 am #250506Massive thank you to Mike for putting this one together and for Damo for sweeping. The Noosa crew always host an epic weekend and this was no exception. Kenilworth and the Mary Valley are beautiful places surrounded by incredible riding. I have a heap of footage to sort through but chose three clips that I think sum it up nicely.

October 8, 2013 at 11:39 am #250459It only takes a few days back in the real world to appreciate just what a great weekend that was. Such a good vibe around the campsite and ridiculously good riding. I have spent tonight sorting and trimming through Spud’s footage and will do the same to mine tomorrow and then I will start my edit. Spud has some gold on his card but it was a shame we did not get any footage of the Imbil inbred!! Lee speaks about four languages and even he could not understand what they were saying
Stay tuned!

October 8, 2013 at 11:42 am #250460The big ride this year took us from kenilworth over to Imbil and back to kenilworth covering 120ks.
With the days temperature rising to 33c  it was going to be a big days riding , with only 8ks covered we hit the first hill of the day which caught a few guys out including lee  .
We got going again and covered 25ks of flowing fast tracks without too many problems and by the time we got to the next challenging hill ,everyone got up without a drama although moto did have a close moment  .
We headed over to a peach section of singles that we did last year and after doing it with the cornerman,we all did it again flat out!! being the lead I didn’t see anyone until I over ran a corner and Lee flew up the inside and in the blink of an eye he was gone :woohoo:didn’t even know he was there :S shit he’s quick  the next section was a rocky creek bed which I found 2 weeks ago and was awesome, enjoyed by alleven after I stalled on the side of the creek bank and fell into the water it was still awesome
This led us into some singles and then over to a massive downhill section which generally lead to a massive uphill, I thought this might cause a few problems but apparently it didnt
Lunch was next and much needed after covering 72ks
On the way back I tried to find some less dusty ground but with lots of dozer work going on and meeting up with a group of 230 4x 4s in the forest it wasn’t easy.
We finally got to some nice tracks which took us home :cheer:
Thanks for the weekend guys was very enjoyablebring on the vids boys :woohoo:
October 9, 2013 at 9:35 am #250550I was going to finish my ride report but after the editing so far it will tell the weekend nicely!!!
