Dave is rebuilding it again, looks for the world like main brgs this time
Hows it going Dave?
It is having a full rebuild and will be a good buy for someone wanting to update they kid from a Pee Wee to something that handles goes and its as labour intensive as a Pro Senior is air cooled and slightly smaller in seat hieght

will keep you posted TB

October 16, 2009 at 3:24 am #156781Ok Mr Rat, just that Brens’ MA50 was in standard tune and gave faultless service no matter how much he thrashed it, admittedly the Pro-seniors were a bit more maintenance intensive, but I was expecting that, as you said constant >8K rpm does wear things out quickly
October 16, 2009 at 3:27 am #156821I will grant Dave one thing. He got that little Mini adventure absolutely ripping, compared to when I had it.
I couldn’t believe it when he started it in my shed and laid rubber with it.

AnonymousIt sucks it’s failed, but from the sounds of it it was inevitable anyway. Good work on doing the work on it Dave

October 16, 2009 at 4:03 am #156829Hey TB are you sure it is the crank seal on the 85? It seemed to be revving out fine last Friday? Is there a crank ventilator on the right side of the bike somewhere? I remember it laying on the ground on its side for over 10 minutes the other day?
Maybe that is where your 125ml of missing oil went. I know the oil will run out of the MA and the Pro senior box if left laying on their sides. Just a thought.October 16, 2009 at 4:09 am #156831No Mick its done it since basically mid way through his first ride on it two months ago thats why I was onto the oil level.
They do nothing for me either bike and if I had them covered for it I would burn them both without blinking (god as my witness)

Bloody hell, that’s saying something!
Not without reason I’d reckon. Definately bike faults TB, obviously?
October 16, 2009 at 4:15 am #156833ECKS I run all the recommended products at saver levels then the experts say I can, they get the gearbox oil changed before time and diether kid thrash’s them, they are maintained without cost (the same as every other bike here or has been here that weren’t purchased new either) and these shit boxes cost the earth to maintain which I do and well the results speak for themselves

October 16, 2009 at 4:22 am #156834Can’t argue with the real world proof really can you?
Damn shame that. What’s the planned replacement bike/s?
October 16, 2009 at 4:31 am #156835Kierans getting onto an CRF70 and fark knows what to do with the other one at this stage

October 16, 2009 at 4:38 am #156836Normally with a blown crank seal they tend not to rev out like the MA is doing.

October 16, 2009 at 4:57 am #156839We had a RM85 with a blown crank seal and it was doing basically what the MA is doing.Start and run fine just would break down once the revs got higher.Leave it to Dave he’ll sort it out and I will find you a buyer.
