Well I met with the guys at Westy and shortly after the Murphsberg crew showed up, after some chit chat we went our seperate ways, Murphs group doing the hardcore enduro loop and our group getting into some hardcore adventure riding. We made our way from Westy to Freemans waterhole via some firetrail and twin trail where the Tenere riders handled it with ease (well it looked like it anyway, Nick was offering his to anyone that might want a go at one stage). From Freemans we headed up the road and back into the bush and thats when things got really interesting. With TB leading we were following a track that got narrower and rougher at every turn with Nick having a little lay down on tricky little hill. Eventually the track opened out again and we comntinued on a pretty decent pace considereing the weight of the big bikes.

With Beer o’clock calling I split from the group as they turned and headed for the letter A and started to make my way home. I was tossing up whether to go on the tar or the dirt and desided that as my riding season is drawing to an end I had better hit the dirt. Ans so it was that I went in just near the freemans roundabout and headed up the hill only to take a wrong turn and come out at the Gap  . I decided that I didn’t want to do that section again so headed on the tar back in to Frreman’s then headed towards the freeway before turning back into the bush where we had come out on the way there. From there it was over sugarloaf where a rider waved me down, he was only a young kid and had lost his group and was pretty concerned. I told him I had seen a guy sitting on a corner back further and I could have a look for him if he liked which he was grateful for. With that I headed back but the other rider was gone so I turned around again only to find the young fella was gone. (Your welcome mate, no problem at all  )

From there I headed into Stockrington along some tracks I hadn’t done for a while and was having a great time until just before the top of a fairly ticky hill climb my right foot struck a stump or something, not sure what it was and didn’t want to stop and have a look so with a great deal of pain I continued on making my way home the shortest way I could find. The vibration from the bike weren’t helping either and when I got home and took my boot off I found this (see attachments).
Must have been bad, I skipped the beers at my mates place to go home and ice it before I had even seen it   , that nail isn’t gonna make it.

Sorry Jeffro I may have jinxed you :( it was only hours before at the pub at westy I was telling Nick about how I clipped a stump and my big toe got caught between the stump and my foot peg and I had to go into surgery that night to have my toe put back together.
Hope it doesn’t give you much trouble mate and hope it heals quick.

Great Day… Met up with TB at Wisemans Ferry about 9-9:30.. A quick coffee and bacon egg roll and we were off… went up settlers track to St Albans then the dirt track towards Laguna.. When we got to the bitumen TB was off his bike and pointing at me then to his bike.. I thought huh  you gonna give me ago :woohoo: Hot digity dog.. What a great ride.. I was only on it for short time but it was awesome… It felt like I was floating.. After getting off a super vibrating DRZ and then onto the yamaha, man it was unreal.. Floating I was.. I got off at the road we turned off to head into the Watagans and had a smile ear to ear..

Done the main tracks through the Watagans and along the way we turned off for some sandy single track fun.. Nice tracks flowy, tight and even a log obstacle.. Somewhere near the meet point we ventured off and followed a power line for a bit.. Came across some young blokes on chinese jobbers… As we blasted past the 2 lead riders TB roosted em.. It was funny… We made it to the meet point and Nick was already there still defrosting from his 8 hour freeze fest..

Shortly after arriving Pete the Wolf showed up and a mate of his as well.. Then Murphs group and then central coast boys.. Gav, Mickp and Lotsa.. And finally Jeffro.. It was big ole gab fest for a bit then the various groups split and off we went… Pete and his mate joined us and we went and did some hard core Adventure Riding.. A fabulous of mix of everything.. Mud, Hills, rocks, singles, doubles etc.. All sorts of stuff.. We popped out onto a main road and stopped for a bit.. Pete and his mate split at this point.. No idea where we were but still having fun.. Made our way to Laguna and refuelled..

I mentioned to TB that he should continue on and do the Yengo with nick.. I wouldn’t have made it in the dark as the after market headlight I have is shit for night riding and I really didn’t want to do the 80+k’s dow Putty road in the dark.. So off I went back to the road to head to St Albans then over to Wisemans Ferry and on home.. I rolled in around 5:30pm..

All up I did 405K’s for the day..

I had a great time and thanks to TB for inviting me along…

PS.. Pete I’m gonna have to meet up with you and have a play in your backyard some more.. It looks like there is some really nice stuff there…

    Sorry Bol.
I didn’t take a camera but I think Pete may have a couple of shots and I think I saw TB take a picture somewhere,,,,,,,,, oh yeh thats right, it was of Nicks bike on it’s side. I was planning on taking the helmet camera but in the end I was running late and forgot, it would have been good to get some video of the terrain the big Ten’s tractored along.

It was good to meet the guys and put some faces to names, as I expected they were a top bunch of blokes and Murph’s crew turned up and I got to meet them as well :)
My mate and I were tagging along with TB’s crew and I’m glad we did cause it was awesome to watch the ADV bikes being treated the way they should be :woohoo: before the ride I thought I wanted one, now I know I want one but just have to get the money ( does anyone want to buy my wife ? She’s in good nik, first 2 inches are flogged out but the rest is brand new )
It was a short ride but a good one and we parted ways at freemans ( Oswald was the name of that road TB, I knew it started with o) Megs and I headed back into some singles and ended up at the gap where we saw Murph his crew, a quick chat and refuel and Megs and I were back into the singles.
A great day with no dramas, Megs had a close encounter of the dirt    kind but all was good and Im super keen for the birthday ride.

My vid cam chucked a wobbly and didn’t get anything but I ripped out the phone at every chance, the phone takes a good photo but I do not :(

What a good ride it had it all. Krusty and I did the single from the pines at the Watagans that run parallel to the main dirt road, that was on the Tenere which included a log crossing

We meet Nick, then Peter the Wolf turned up then Lotsa, Gavb, Jeffro and Mickp

    P5150258.jpg

    P5150259.jpg

Then Murph and his merry men turned up :) after some quick hellos we departed as we had some miles to do. We rode up towards l
Killingworth using the tracks that we used on the Dr Jurds ride some years back the same ones that wore one of our single track guns out that ride ;)

We did the lot as PTW and others will vouch. We left PTW at the Oak servo and took a track that lead us to the same one we used on the Jurds ride again where Damus broke something ( leg?, arm? Can’t remember sorry ) and Boony went over the bars on the down hill if memory serves me

We rode the Teneres through it all, Nick had a little lay down but it was nothing

    P5150261.jpg

    P5150260.jpg

    With very little hassle

    P5150262.jpg

Once we got into the Watagans we hot footed for Laguna as we wanted to run Yengo before dark. Krusty bailed and we ran non stop until Nick started having a few moments that turned out to be a problem with his back brake. A stick had jammed it on and every time he backed of it locked up after 3 kilometres he stopped and here is what was going on

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnUz-cuD5Eo&feature=youtube_gdata_player

We got out to the Putty and blasted off for a special track up there we looked into

It was well dark when we got home

    Thanks to this that attended

The disk seems fine mate, it was ticking as it cooled down and I thought their may be more damage but all seemed fine.

A little lesson …’ If you have to accelerate to go down a very steep hill somethings wrong !!  ‘
