Later we came over a hill later and I said to Dan again on the blue tooth “stopping turning right” Dan said “ok”, and still went straight ahead into the little gully much to mine and Boulders amusment
It was a lot of fun

August 9, 2009 at 9:36 am #147602Oh yeah Champo comes up beside my bike just as I am about to ride of after a stop and says hey your fuel tap is off, and he reaches down and says there you go. Dan had been around that side of my bike, so over the blue tooth I am abusing Dan and he is saying it wasnt me and I am saying whatever, this is war etc etc, then my bike starts backfiring, Champo had turned the fuel off  , got me a beauty, never did apologise to Dan

Anonymousi have a bruise. and i don’t bruise easily. i have only had a few bruises in my life. it normally takes a joust or a handlebar to the nuts to bruise me.
racy on the other hand, bruises like a rip pear. she has a massive bruise on her leg and all up her left side. i think we will have to work on descents.
I didn’t realise that we had a dr650 out there until I looked at the photos. I know I would struggle with our brp on those trails. Well done mate. But who are you?

He’s Steve, a mate from a couple of doors away. He was there with his son on the DRZ250 on their first organised trailride. I don’t ride with him a lot but we have done a few adv rides to places like Sheepskin and California Hut on my old Tenere and often in company with another mate on a Domi.
He did well didn’t he! Had a spill in the gully you rode Traceys bike up but was looking for lower gears the DR didn’t have :cheer: Should get him on a proper enduro bike – he was looking closely at some one the run.
August 9, 2009 at 10:30 am #147628His son rode really well on the DR250 as well

Yes mate. Ploughs to work and back all the time, (120k round trip) the does the odd adv ride as well. Can’t kill it. Here crossing the (very empty) Karuah R up behind Dungog.
Off for a couple of weeks touring doing a big dirt loop in Nthn NSW for a fortnight soon.
Enjoyed your yarn about the NX around the Barringtons. Some nice stuff up there.August 9, 2009 at 10:48 am #147626champo35 wrote:

Good try Champo, but watch me get out of this one …
I put it to Roger and Tracy whether they were willing to have a go at the climb, else I would take them the easier way around. Tracy told me that she was getting a lift up the climb with you, and Roger was undecided, so I took him around. Mate, if it wasn’t for Roger I would have shown you guys how to do the climb on one wheel! 😆I grabbed that particular section of google earth trail to see if anybody mentioned ‘Hey, I don’t remember that section of track, doubling back on ourselves at the dam’. Good spotting Champo.
Street view comes in handy when sussing out tracks. Remember where we waited for Al’s bum bag? I mapped those tracks along the top of the ridge last year using Google earth and found the turn off at the tar using street view. Very powerful and handy tool (as long as they keep it up to date).
Yes, I saw TB’s footage of you guys double-up on the climb. Most impressed. I have trouble with just me on the bike, let alone a pillion! Certainly some skill there that I often find lacking.
ps (Al don’t read this bit) remind Tracy to check out the photo of Al in the Ride Gatherings post for this ride.
