I was in the market for a new Adventure riding suit and 2 weeks ago my wife got me a Klim Traverse Suit for by birthday. This came about by her asking some close friends what I’d really like and talking with Steve from Adventure Moto to get on up to Yamba.
This is the suit
First impressions of the jacket were a very well built suit , exellant quality and well thought out. It has a heap of vents for summer and has a goretex liner built in to make it 100% waterproof and warm in winter.
The pants are also excellant quality and very comfortable with good size pockets.
The soft armor comes separately and is very easy to fit and remove.
Here is the specs;

September 28, 2011 at 9:44 am #209818When I first got the suit I felt the jacket may be a touch large so Steve from Adventure Moto was happy for me to return it and promptly sent me a smaller size. Once I got the second jacket I felt that it was maybe a little tight in the shoulders so tail between my legs I went back to Steve who was more than happy to send me the original back and told me to keep the smaller one until I was sure
During the conversation he mention they now come in black and asked if I wanted a complete black suit sent up !!! He said I’d have the first in Australia so I went for it
That has to be some of the best service I have ever had , not only does he put up with me being indecisive about the size but he says to keep all the gear he’s sent and offered a new range and only when I’m happy to sent back the other gear that doesn’t fit.
Now you wouldn’t get that overseas
The big test is coming up for this suit with a 8 day outback ride with a good chance of rain , I’ll let you know how it goes
September 28, 2011 at 10:24 am #209828Deejay has the complete set as well and has worn his on two rides the latter last weekend. I was also on the ride and was amazed that when we stopped for lunch after riding in the rain for 7 hrs he was still dry  (BTW the rain was bloody heavy and all but rained the whole time) it hadn’t seemed to leak anywhere, I must admit I had expected some sort of leak through a zipper etc but no he was bone dry  Myself, I was pretty damp :pinch:
After seeing the jackets at Steve’s while ah, helping get a set organised for a friends surprise birthday present, and seeing Deejays in action and listening to Nick thoughts while he researched them I have also purchased a jacket. My Dry-rider has served me faithfully for 6 years but I have to admit I am looking forward to not having the stop and fit liners at every chance of rain. The Oodnadatta ride I think will be a good test. As I haven’t bought the pants Nick I think I will do your suggestion and just wear the liner in the dry rider pants all the time like as worked in the past for youBTW Nick you seem to have lost weight in the picture
Steve did both Deejay, myself and I know Nicks wife the normal OBT deal which was fantasic.

It also resulted in the first hissy fit I believe by someone in Austarlia when you found out I had ordered the black jacket first
September 28, 2011 at 12:04 pm #209830“GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY”
Well I left my House on Sunday at about 5am, It rained constant from when I left to when I arrived home!
At the half way mark at the pub, I had water around my neck, where my Leatte pulled the jacket down a little! But it was minimal!
When I got home, the jacket was fairly drenched as for me inside, i was close to the same state as when I left the pub! And it rained harder on the way home!!!
To say I’m happy with the jacket would be an understatement!!! And the pants they are no different to the jacket when it comes to keeping dry!!!
Traveling at higher speeds in the cold the Klim gear was tops! No wind found it’s way into the jacket and I was warm,( even without grip heaters working)!!
In the tighter stuff where it got abit warmer, I open up two vents on the side of the jacket and was happy with the amount of cooling it added but still remained at a comfortable temperature!!!
You get what you pay for!!! It is great gear, will recommended it and Steve at adventure moto to anyone who is interested in it!!!!Dejay

September 28, 2011 at 4:50 pm #209834Nick, Good review. You must have a very understanding wife. First she buys you the gear and then she lets you stand on the table whilst she takes a photo of it. Maybe you have an ugly melon though as she made you keep the helmet on and even then she cut your head out of the photo.
Sounds like it’s good gear.
